I'd love to see Cotto whoop the piss out of Chavez. For some reason, I really don't like Chavez jr.

all of these fighters will, chavez sr was one of the longest reigning champs of all time. he had over 30 championship bouts, no fighter in history has been in so many world championship bouts. a guiness world record that still stands.

chavez jr is going to whoop both duddy then cotto if they put them together cotto is damaged goods since margs, foreman wasnt very good to begin with im not buying that "cotto is back" he aint **** ,just running on his past laurels , cotto cannot withstand heavy punishment anymore. Cotto is soo like 2000s guys move on.........time for the youngsters to take over. chavez jr is no chavez sr but who really is?????a very select few will even be in mentioned in the same class.

I might be wrong but I can smell the Arum's move. He knows that Cotto's career won't last too long. Even if he wins his next fights he already said that he will retire maybe next year. By the other hand, Chavez JR. is so much young and could last a lot more than Cotto in boxing. Arum could be taking advantage of this to use Cotto as a stepping stone to crown Chavez JR. as a champion and make him a superstar.
The fact that Arum is missing is that Chavez JR. has a lot more fights than Cotto and has received a lot of more punishment than Cotto due to his lack of defense.
Arum could take the risk, but Chavez JR. won't last like champion even if he defeat Cotto because he simply won't pass the big names right now in 154lb. and won't even make the 154 again without troubles.

Did you hear Cotto say that he wants Chavez Jr? It's ****** Arum who talks about a nobody like Chavez Jr. fighting a star in Cotto. ****** Arum really thinks Jr. can beat Cotto and become a superstar. Arum wants so badly for Cotto to lose to a fighter in his stable to start cashing on the fighter that beat Cotto. He was so pissed off when Foreman lost, you could tell from his reactions at the post fight press conference. Hopefully Cotto doesn't agree to fight a bum like Jr. and fights Berto who is a true champion. Beating Berto would bring Cotto again into the super-stardom status he deserves to be in.

PS: When fighting Ariza's fighters Cotto should ask for USADA blood testing. The same goes in the case of a fight against the NO. 1. cheater in the sport today : Maragcheato known also as Plasterito or Plastercheato.

So Chavez Jr. just comes off suspension for a banned substance now he's working with Ariza and Roach? Wow, I expect Jr. to stop Duddy then beat Cotto. Look for Jr. to all of a sudden gain strength, stamina and durability from now on. Somebody better get smart and start demanding testing. I feel sorry for Cotto. He's so ignorant to Bob Arum. Bob didn't want Cotto to beat Foreman now he's setting him up for the kill. Why would Roach go any where near a fighter caught using a banned substance right now? And the f**king WBC is the biggest joke in boxing history. You have a legit throwback 148-160 Middle-wt champion but you force him to give up his 154 title then you have Tony Margacheato ranked #2@154? Boxing is turning into a f**king joke.

Plus Cotto needs a fight like this...too many wars back to back..he needs to build his confidence back and not too mention he needs time in the ring to work on **** he used to have..putting him in there in continuous battles will kill him and his confidence i think right now..
Exactly. Cotto haters give him **** for losing to Marg, Pac and almost to Clottey, Mosley. Then they ride other peoples **** (like Mayweather) who only fought one of them when he was 38 years old and way past his prime. It wasn't just after the Cotto fight, he fought Mosley after two more fights with Vargas, a bout against Mayorga and another one against Margarito. The guy has fought NOTHING but the best and yet guys like Iceta say "What about the guys he lost to?" Its simple really, why fight those guys when you can make 8 million at least fighting Chavez, get a win making you look like a monster, and spend more time refining your skill with Stewart.

After that win you can go after Marg or Pac and have a far better chance of winning with your body getting more rest between battles. You're trainer has inbred more skills into you, and you confidence is higher than it would have been pre-Margarito. Cotto has also said he's pushing back his retirement plans a bit as working with Steward has really reinvigorated his passion for the sport. This is a smart move if Cotto takes this fight, as people on this board have shown that even if you do nothing but fight the best they still think you're a *****. He's proved that he is a warrior in the ring and at this point in time he needs to become a better fighter, a reborn fighter, not another warrior who took too many beatings.

As far as him fighting Berto thats the dumbest thing I've heard with JCC's name in the hat. Easier fight (though Cotto would win both by decapitation) but JCC is far, Far, FAR more money than what Berto can ever bring to the table. JCC is a bigger guy so it'd also keep Cotto's chin used to 154 power as well, no point in taking a further step down to fight Berto.
