How can you tell what a fighter's mainstream appeal is w/o his PPV numbers or 24/7 ratings go door to door? LMFAO. Floyd has been on Dancing With The Stars, the WWF and had major commercials on major networks. What do you think appeals more to a young kid an undefeated fighter or a fighter with 3 defeats and 2 draws? Only a ****** would think the 2 are on the same level.

how can you tell who has more mainstream appeal?maybe by how many people watch the fighter fight which comes right back to floyd.how can someone not have any mainstream appeal yet have more people watch his fights than the fighter with the so called mainstream appeal so i guess floyd actually has the mainstream appeal the only thing is floyd been doin it where as manny just started gettin his recognition thats why it may seem as if manny is more popular but if that were true than he would be able to out sell floyd and he can'tComment

Delusional, your mind is.
Everyone and their mothers knows AT THAT time JMM was a much bigger draw than Clottey. Why do you think Mayweather picked to fight him in the first place, we all know it ain't for legacy. He specifically said he was the biggest draw at the time. If he wanted to fight Pac, he could have waited one day after the Pacquiao-Hatton fight.
Let's take both Pac and Mayweather's last three fights. Hatton-Cotto-Clottey and Hatton-Marquez-Mosley.
We'll cancel out Clottey and Marquez. So that leaves Hatton-Cotto and Hatton-Mosley. Do your research and you'll find they are both equal in cash revenue.
It is clearly obvious that Mayweather came back for Manny, but it would have been ridiculous to fight him as your "comeback" fight, after a two year layoff.
The fact that Mayweather chose the morning of the Pac/Hatton fight to announce his comeback, and the fact that his comeback fight was to be against Manny's old arch-enemy Marquez, along with Mayweathers own personal comments..... make it clearly obvious that Floyd wanted Manny right from the word go.
Let's not forget here..... this fight would have already happened if Manny had accepted the same drug testing procedures that he only recently agreed to.
And nope..... Mayweather is the bigger draw. There is no doubt about that, which is why Mayweather had 60% as his start point for negotiations.
If Manny started at 60%, this fight would never happen.Comment

why floyd fans always have EXPLANATION about the crazy ****** excuses(demands)floyd gave to PAC??? first at the drugtest, etc. if you are true fans talk to your floyd that this fight is necessary to happen beacause this is the world awaits. i think your not want to have a lose in your idol.. floyd knows pac will not agree to that demandComment

My point is there exists a marketplace for Manny, whereas the best boxer on the planet simply isn't marketable to the masses unless you consider KING MAGAZINE a true representation of mainstream popularity.Again...Manny has S.I. cover story, 60 minutes feature, Jay Leno,Kimmel and Letterman (all as a first chair guest). Mayweather has Judge Joe Brown.Comment

Lol no one cared about Floyd on Dancing with the Stars, he had two national campaign ads that ran it's course at the height of his popularity, which should have served to open up more doors for him, what has it done for him since? What are his current national endorsements? Drinks, clothing...anything? A monopoly set with his face on it?

He gets better numbers then Manny, but you would never say that no one cares to watch Manny.Comment
