um two important fights on the horizon

Ward vs Green for the completion of the 2nd round of the Super Six
Mayol vs Nino is a good little guy fight
    Gamboa vs Salido being postponed

    etc etc
Ward vs Green holds importance obviously. I clearly made reference to topics being "newsworthy" , which is entirely different, not withstanding there importance to the sport. Obviously I know a good fight and match-up when I see it.

One number is larger than the other which means one man is putting more asses in the seats than the other. Manny can't make 20 million no where else period. Floyd doesn't need Manny, he has about 5 other options that he can make 30 million+ from. Manny needs Floyd or he will fight in the 10-15 million range against other Top Rank fighters.
And that's fine with you that he fights the fights that nobody really wants? The boxing world wants and you are kool with him not fighting it cause he sold more ppv? This is why this is not a golden area in boxing sad.

        • @Sugar Q: Manny should pay Roach very well since Roach turned him into the pound for pound best fighter! That is worth every cent. And yes, I paid for all the Mosley PPVs and always for Mosley, not for Wright, Forrest or even ODLH...

It's not about getting the fight made. It's about Floyd getting what he wants. Either Floyd has his demands met.. or NO fight. LOL!

Would a broke man walk away? Floyd's 5 million debt was taken care of before he got in the ring with Marquez and he still walked away with 25+ then he just made crazy loochie fighting Shane. Dude aint beat for no money. Just do a little research and you will see. Floyd is not contracted to GB they partner up there's a huge difference.

              • If you go back in history, in superfights, the guy who got the biggest purses was quite often not the most popular guy.

Take Hagler vs Leonard for instance. Leonard was by far the more popular and money draw between the two, but Hagler got the slightly larger purse.

Hagler got a 12 million guarantee
Leonard got an 11 million guarantee

both got an equal percentage of additional revenue from receipts. The reason was because he was known as the main man. He was the one who Leonard had to beat.

With Manny and Floyd, it has been Manny carrying the momentum, although Floyd has narrowed the gap, and Floyd seems to be the larger PPV draw be a small margin.

Make it 50/50 and get it done. If that is not possible, guarantee Floyd 1-2% more to satisfy his ego. 60-40 though is not even coming to the table serious. He had better lesson that demand or it will be Floyd that looks bad.

Pacquiao agreed. Floyd don't want none.

                  • You know, these negotiations remind me of Roy Jones vs. Bernard Hopkins. Roy kept demanding 60-40 and when he finally settled for 50-50, Bernard kicked his ass. If the fight doesn't happen, we all lose.
