How is Martinez an idiot? I mean he didn't give up the WBO belt, they stripped him of it because he didn't make the decision now, and part of this decision of not choosing a decision is that he still hasn't chosen an opponent.Comment

Good. Sergio doesn't need those belts, not when he's already recognized as one of the best in the world. While it's true that the WBC is simply looking out for their own financial interests here, it's also true that (perhaps inadvertently) they're doing what's probably best for the sport. He can only defend one, let the other go up for grabs and have less-established fighters fight for a title that means exponentially more for them than it should to Sergio. Yeah it makes a mockery of what being a champion is supposed to mean, but if you haven't noticed that's already happened. As fans we should be interested in the lineal champ and/or the Ring champ, not who's wearing the alphabet straps if we wanna know who the best is. Those belts mean more to the lesser-names of the sport as we saw with a guy like Foreman and the kind of numbers he did with Cotto.Last edited by 20/20vision; 06-16-2010, 12:39 AM.Comment

there is nothing wrong or corrupt about this. it has always been standard practice when a fighter held titles in two separate divisions for the same sanctioning body, he was made to vacate one. be it any of the abc's. this is nothing new. the only difference now is the fact that there is this phenomenon of fighters jumping up and down in weight. before when a fighter moved up it was usually to stay, and it was not an issue.Comment

What?!...The **** are you trying to say?....i guess all segio GAY lovers are really pissed of but guess what casual fans you cant keep 2 titles from a difent division at the same time you either at one weight class or the other.for this gay guy i think eh should stay at 160 154 he will prety much get ****ed up by the talents that are there and that are moving up to it.160 he can prety much dominate those bums at 160 who we all know dont have you know who they are.so i think gay sergio should stay at 160
Edit: This was very hard to read...Last edited by HandSpeed303; 06-16-2010, 02:29 AM.Comment

Funny how the WBC were much more accomodating with these sort of decisions with the likes of Pacquiao and Mayweather holding wbc belts in 2 weightclasses concurrently.Comment

The big fights are at 154 but Middleweight is a more marquee division as it has more history to it. Isn't it strange how the WBC says that if Chavez Jr beats John Duddy then he can have a title fight at 154 or 160 despite not having a fight at 160 yet, he's a bum.Comment
