the road for chavez jr. to fight for a world title has been waaaaaayyyyyy too easy. fighting 40 bums and now he will fight a journeyman in duddy possibly for the WBC middleweight or super welterweight title if sergio gets stripped. i guess being the son of a legend and suliman being mexican help a lot. this is so DISGUSTING

Once a fighter gains undisputed championship status, dump the belts and fight to defend your status afterward.

This is dumb as hell! Why are the sanctioning bodies trying to control who has belts and who doesn't? I don't think their purpose is matchmaking. They should just sit back and watch their belts be won/lost. Fighters should be able to defend at multiple weight classes of multiple sanctioning bodies. As long as fees are paid and the title is won and defended in the amount of time allotted, then there should be no issues here! I like the fact that there are fighters willing to put weight on and drop weight just to fight the best...Obviously all the sanctioning bodies aren't as open to these ideas...

Just plain ****** if you ask me!

Sergio should say f the world and setup a fight with Sturm, beat him and then beat Sylvester. Run 160 because Williams will drop to 147, Cotto is not going to fight until November most likely against Pac in the rematch, and Spinks is not even worth the time.

Otherwise, move back down to 154 and beat Dzindziruk for his belt.

if they only knew how much they are hurtinging themselves....i mean yeah its cool for a fighter to win a belt the first time but when they start hassling the fighters and pullin stunts like this.....the fighters say fuc* you...keep ur belt, so long as u dont take my check im gooood...and its happening more and more...sergio is the champ period, belt or no belt...

yup..NOT TRUE AT ALL...Sergio also holds the WBO middleweight belt and u dont hear them asking him to fight at this weight or the other..its just the WBC wanting to make money faster..why have 1 guy fighting for 2 weights maybe once a year for each weight class when u can have 2 guys fighting twice a year for ur fees...simple business really..

Also Pacquiao holds the WBO welterweight belt and the IBO Lightwelter belt..they arent asking him to fight in 1 division either...its just about the fees..

"The Henry Armstrong era is long gone." - Sulaiman

We don't have to look far to see who is hurting boxing. We need to find a way to get rid or diminish the power of these corrupt sanctioning bodies.
