How many total ***** moves does Khan have to make before even his fans will start to pay attention? He wants easy fights against old men, feather fisted or shot fighters. He is everything wrong with boxing. Fuuck him and Golden Boy.Comment

Promoter Gary Shaw had a recent meeting with HBO and pitched the idea of a big 140-pound tournament. Based on Shaw's idea, the tournament would include champions Timothy Bradley, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, and Juan Manuel Marquez - if he beats Juan Diaz next month. [Click Here To Read More]Comment

I've been wondering for quite some time and since the Super Six started why there aren't more tournaments in boxing, spanning multiple weight classes. It is my opinion that these tournaments are exactly what the sport needs and what its fans crave. After reading this article it's clear that they likely don't or won't happen simply because someone doesn't want to fight, has money or location issues, there are cross promotion issues, etc.
I guess Khan's people want to take the road that poses the least amount of risk to his career, whilst they build him up against less then elite/dangerous opponents and rake in the dough.
Truly a shame that the politics of boxing keep other tournaments from happening. They should make the tournament anyway and just exclude Khan. I'd love watching the tournament!
Reading this though makes me respect all of the super middleweight fighters and promoters in Showtime's tournament...way to get it done guys. Every fighter in that is well aware it could make or break their career yet they all went ahead regardless!Comment
