So let me get this straight, he ducks, a 140lb tourney, (his division) then says Diaz or Marquez is next (2 lightweights). Same old Khan, thing is, people can't keep blaming GBP because the same padding of his record was happening under Warren, the common denominator is Amir Khan himself.

There will always be a big risk having a young prospect fighting top opposition in back-to-back-to-back fights.
One or two big defeats might ruin the guy forever. It would truly be a make or break moment. Given this you have to give major props to Goosen and Shaw for having Ward and Dirrell participate in the supersix.Comment

But Battling, he ain't a prospect anymore, HE went for that belt, so HE needs to defend it against worthy opposition. There will always be a big risk having a young prospect fighting top opposition in back-to-back-to-back fights.

Actually, you now what, everybody knows how i feel about Khan, i am entitled to that opinion, but i won't get wound up over it again.
Lol.
I'm out.Comment

Nevertheless he is still young prospect or not.
This just goes to show that GBP has a fairly big aversion to risk and/or not too much confidence in Khan ('s chin).Comment

I know you're right mate, (as always lol) but it isn't just since he joined GBP, it was the same with Frank Warren, the common factor being Khan himself.Comment

You're being very unfair to Warren. He was in late negotiations and on the point of signing contracts for Khan to fight Miadana when Khan jumped ship (this was confirmed by Maidana). He was also in serious negotiations for Khan to fight Bradley in the summer. Warren did over-protect him early in his career but not at the end. In fact, there have been several newspaper reports saying that part of the reason that Khan jumped ship when he did was precisely because Warren was pressuring him to fight Maidana next. Roach and Shah Khan were both apparently very pissed off with Warren over that, according to several UK journalists. So let me get this straight, he ducks, a 140lb tourney, (his division) then says Diaz or Marquez is next (2 lightweights). True point. He has no excuse now, as a developed champion. You're being very unfair to Warren. Shah Khan and Roach are the biggest problem. GBP are also part of the problem though. I think Khan himself would fight whoever they put in front of him, but he doesn't stand up to Shah or Roach or GBP, and none of them are willing to take any risks.Comment

The truth is the person with the biggest sway is Roach, His word is final in who Khan fights and when he fights. Warren had said at the end of the Salita fight that Khan had achieved 70% of his career already, Roach retorted Khan had only reached 50%. You cant blame Khan for leaving Warren who paid less, Was trying to get Khan finished by rushing him into Maidana after he had already made one defence against Salita.
I think Roach is doing what he should be doing, Picking the right fights, At the right time. Ultimately Roach holds the final say. He naturally should. Goldenboy are the type of promotors that make fights that the fighters want to fight, They dont normally force a fight on someone.
By the way would be interested to hear your opinion on what I said about Oliver Harrison who was Khans first trainer.
