That was the last round of a very high tempo fight for Margrito. He was very aggressive and constantly throwing punches in every round. He was way ahead on points and couldnt put his very tough opponent away.
Also it was his return fight.

Cotto had a very easy nights work.

To compare the two isnt really fair.


Cotto had all the skills in their first fight, yet Margrito's pressure eventually was too much for Cotto.

A rematch would be interesting, but Margrito is not shot.

Kind of a reach to call him shot he dominated the fight and it was after a 1 year layoff.

I always felt Margarito is just a bad opponent for cotto. A big, strong, iron chinned pressure fighter will always be bad news for cotto.

Cotto was fed a 1 legged bum and still couldnt k.o him clean. It took him 2 rounds to hunt down a 1 legged fighter.

The the guy Margo was fighting had any amount of skill and infighting and cutting off the ring, Margo would be KO'd in the fight. Margo is scared of his chin getting checked and is trying to become a boxer, but if he came into a Cotto fight with the same gameplan Cotto would beat him.

I believe both of them are shot now, but Cotto definitely is of a higher skill level.

Exactly, it's about styles. We all know Cotto is the more skilled fighter but that doesn't mean he will win.

I think Marg get's hit a lot with Cotto but I also think Cotto get's hit a lot with Marg.

I don't think either one is the same fighter as before and in seeing the Cotto vs Foreman fight, the few times Foreman had success, is when he was pushing Cotto backwards.

Cotto is not the same fighter going backwards, he's just not and Marg does nothing but come forward and absorb shots.

Personally, I think we would see the same type fight and I even think Marg would KO him sooner. Unless Marg is shot but he didn't look shot to me, he looked rusty but over a year out of the ring will do that to you.

what fight were you watching, margarito was boxing garcia and taunting him to an annoying extent, rounds 8 and 9 he ran like cory spinks he was winning comfortably though. on a sidenote nobody gave garcia a chance in hell

cotto had an easy nights work because hes a powerful technician, and ure right comparing foreman and garcia isnt fair, foreman is a pedigree amateur and a former undefeated world champ, garcia is nobody, has no defense and is really slow

margarito is done and panda hopes cotto will land a rematch to prove that
