according to your logic, beating zaveck makes you more of a "champ" than beating mayweather. floyd should also be considered a WW legend, since he's the only WW lineal champ as of late
Exactly right, I rather Cotto beating Shane Mosley then beating Zaveck. It makes no sense to diss Cotto. There is nothing that you can complain about Cotto.

      and FYI

the only person cotto beat that was a champ at the time of their fight was foreman. To be considered a champ you gotta beat a champ!!!! That's common sense in the boxing world
This "Cotto never fought a champion for a belt" argument is overrated. True, he won mostly vacant titles in his career but he always fought the best possible fighters. Mosley, Margarito, and Clottey were all top WW when Cotto fought them. Pacquiao was the #1 P4P fighter, plus all those fights were exciting to watch and now he's willing to fight the best at 154. Cotto is the truth, my nizzle.

I don't think Cotto is an ATG.

I am not even sure if Cotto is a HOF'er. I think at the most he could be borderline. I don't think he would/should gets in his first try. But, maybe at some point. However, I am not sure if he deserves to be in at this point more then lets say Donald Curry who is not in.

So it is what you think great is? I think even though he was elite at WW for a short period of time he had did a lot in that short period and had a good resume. I think the last decade which is of 2000-2009 he probably had the best WW resume right behind Margarito.

What I am arguing about is that you called him a hype job and pretty much a trash fighter which is not true at all. He is/was a very good fighter and was an elite P4P fighter at one point.

He was not spoon fed easy fights. Not at all. He was thrown in pretty quick. Maybe he wasn't thrown to the wolves as quick as Floyd or Oscar were. But, he wasn't babied either.

I mean in his first 3 years as a pro in his first 20 fights he already had wins over Cesar Bazan, Carlos Maussa, Victoriano Sosa, and Lovemore Ndou. And, Lovemore Ndou was a to 10 JWW at the time who then later became a champ. He was a tough fighter. That run at such an early stage is not being spoon fed. Is not a media hype job. He has faced every single style, from counter punchers, to brawlers, to KO artist, to come forward fighters, to defensive fighters, to pressure fighters, to movers. He ducked no one and there is nothing really to diss the guy about.

Now since I have answered all your questions. Answer mine. Name all the active fighters who have beaten more than 12 passed, present, and future World champions.

I am not letting this thread die down. Until Castenada or Iceta answer my question in the bold.

you still miss the fact up until last weekend he had never beaten a champion! Keep twisting how you want. COTTO HAD NEVER BEATEN A TITLE HOLDER. All his belts were won off fighters that were fed to him for a vacant title shot. You don't even have to look far back jennings, gomez. Cotto is a product of great match up and marketing! The only two times he faced a live opponent he got knocked out in both fights. Come on bro you're trying WAAAAAY to hard! you're boasting about 12 former, or future champs he beat you are exactly what im talking about when I say arum did a great job in making people think he was better than he was. Besides Mosley and Judah no one on his resume is world class and both of those fighters were already considered gate keepers. Why did evangelista turn down a fight with floyd at 140???

Yet you keep ducking my question. If you don't know just say that you don't know.

Evangelista turned it down cuz it wasn't the right time to make it happen.

When was the best time to make a Cotto-Floyd fight? at 140 pre 2006 when Cotto hadn't even beat Quintana?

Or in 2008 when Floyd was coming off a win against Hatton and Cotto was coming off a win against Mosley?

Now since i answered your question. Answer mine. How many active fighters have beaten more passed, present, and future World champs then Cotto? If you don't know just say it.

Margaritos wraps were bleeding underneath in the picture, How many fighters do you know bleed underneath their wraps after a fight? The wraps should allow for maximum protection

to cotto's credit there wasn't much available to fight while he was at 140 and 147 but that still doesnt take away from the fact that the only time he faced a current champion he quit in both fights. You judge people's resume on who they beat at the time! you don't give someone credit for beating someone that used to be good.

Corrales did. It is not blood it is red dye from the gloves.

No I guess your right, Margarito only cheated once in his life but Naazim Richardson was able to catch it.

He never cheated prior to that.

This is just a thread for Margarito ball lickers and Cotto haters alike to protect a cheater. The guy should be banned forever

so red dye seeps past the top wraps and hits the plaster too??

I think your reaching with that one.
