I keep holding out hope that Haye is going to regrow his balls and fight Wlad. Funny that if Haye just kept his mouth shut nobody would be on him like this, he'll just of been another European belt holder. But since he ran that big mouth of his and is in a position to get what he said he wanted, Haye is coming off as a big ass *****.

I think Harrison has a good chance to give Haye a good fight. Win? Anything can happen in heavyboxing .Comment

If this joke of a fight happens i hope harrison wins. There is continued talk that Olympic Gold medal winner Audley Harrison will become the fighter to meet WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in either October or November. Both Klitschko brothers want to fight Haye, but the British fighter may elect to meet his countryman instead. [Click Here To Read More]Comment

The quote from McGuigan seems completely unambiguous to me - he's blaming the Klitchkos. I, too, liked McGuigan as a fighter and in general I like him as a commentator, but he does tend to be very biased in favour of British fighters, and that quote is pure nuthuggery as far as I'm concerned. Just because I like someone doesn't mean I shouldn't criticise them when they say dumb things. It seems to me that when you like someone, you give are willing to give them a pass when you normally wouldn't, because that quote was just indefensible as far as I'm concerned.I have always liked McGuigan as a fighter and in my opinion he has always been above board with his opinions. So, I don't understand why you are reading so much into what he said. The Klit bothers were doing the foot work to get Haye into the ring and for what ever reason their efforts fell short and by definition that can be considered a failure. And I don't get the impression that Barry was implying in any way that the failure was on the part of the Klit bros because of silly demands or slave contracts. It just seems that Barry was simply implying they were the ones doing the foot work and therefore failed in their attempt to get Haye in the ring. Did I already say that?Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-12-2010, 04:09 PM.Comment

Fraudley's record can't be compared with Radamacher, he's lost to too many journeymen. If Fraudley had got a title shot on his pro debut, there would have been far less criticism than if he gets one now, not long after losing to a taxi driver; with four losses, all to journeymen, in all; and without a single performance since he turned pro in which he looked even close to world class.Where is this article did Barry claim Harrison deserved this fight? All he said is, "It seems like the natural progression." And I believe he was referring to Olympic Heavyweight Gold medal winners in general fighting for the heavyweight title and never implied that Harrison deserved the shot. At least that is the way I read it. And how many Olympic gold medal winner have fought for the and may not have deserved a shot at the title? I am not going to pretend that I know the answer but one Pete Radamacher fought Floyd Patterson for the championship in his pro debut. And why? Simply because he was the Heavyweight Gold medal winner in the 1956 Olympics.
In any case, Dan Rafael's comment is completely valid. Patterson was not taking the Radamacher fight in preference to a unification against the generally recognised lineal champion whom he had been calling out for two years, and who had offered him a 50/50 split with no options. So the comparison simply doesn't wash.Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-12-2010, 04:04 PM.Comment

The sad thing is that most british sportsfans would probably rather see this fight than Haye vs. a klit. So sad.Comment
