De la hoya fought a lot of good, dangerous fighters in their prime and made a lot of money doing it. Whats wrong with that?

But they don't have to. If my wife and I can raise a family on our salaries, which are meager in comparison,

theres no reason why millionaire athletes have to go broke.
Strawman argument. I don't care about their money management skills, I'm looking at the fact that fighters like Duran, Hearns and Tyson are broke, people don't give a **** about them yet they have atg status.

Ultimately earning more money ensures you will have more money later in your life. Having ATG status doesn't.

right these business-boxers have all the right to think of their own health and wealth. and the paying fans have all the right to criticize and cuss them for all their money's worth.

            simple like this:

dela hoya didnt care about what i think.
i would say, **** dela hoya...he is not my moneys worth.

              lol strawman argument.

I posted basic facts. You say you don't care about their management skills, but those particular skills,

              are why they're broke.

Nobody tells them to buy **** like exotic tigers and 100 room mansions.

Look at how much money Tyson made.

He wasted it. Thats nobodies fault but his own and has nothing to do with the fans appreciating him or all that other mess you're talking about.

Again not true. Why are Duran, Tyson, and Hearns broke?

Saying that earning more money ensures you that you will have more money in your life is not true if you dumb with your money. Look at Tyson, he earned over 300 million in his career. That should of been enough for him and his kids life time. He ll even maybe his grand kids.

If you fight for legacy the money comes with. And, if you smart with your money you could be in the level of Duran and have money that will last you a life time.

As a true boxing fan fighting for legacy> fighting for money.

But again, who paid them for those fights? The fans. If they're broke now, it's their own fault for not spending/investing it properly during their active years. The paying public have done their part.

We can't be there to hold their hand after their careers are over, but with the right brain they won't need that - if they've been clever with their money which was generously donated to them by us.

In the end, it's the fighters' responsibility to use their earnings wisely. We can only prop them up by watching their fights (if they're good ones), but the onus is on them to make good use of their prize when we're not around to give them any more cash.
