In my opinion Oscar ruined boxing because it was all business and money to him first. He retired and Floyd Mayweather does the same stuff. Now we have people like Tim Bradley and Amir Khan following that same route. Money counts to these greedy bastards and nothing else. What happened to wanting to unify a division, or to prove you are the best by fighting the best? That is why Oscar De La Hoya ruined boxing. Greedy bastards that don't give a **** about boxing fans.

1.Hoya was/is about his money.But Hoya fought the best opponents of any fighter in his era.

2.Tim Bradley is doing what Floyd did not Hoya.

3.Hoya cared about the fan's that's why we got Tito Hoya,Mosley Hoya,Chavez Hoya,Quartey Hoya,Hoya Floyd,Hoya Pac,Hoya Vargas,Hoya B-hop,Dude this is not even naming all his fight's it is to just show you this thread is dumb.You can't blame Hoya even tho he took some loses and was paid the most money of any boxer not a heavyweight.Hoya is a great fighter who gave back to the fan's get the facts right guy.

Name me one fighter who fought for legacy and didn't earn a lot of money throughout his career?

It doesn't matter if you fight for money or legacy. At the end of the day if you're dumb with your money you going to be broke period. And, if you fight for money and end up broke cuz your dumbass didn't know how to handle money and don't have the name that will live on forever then you fought for nothing.

If you fought for legacy and at the end of the day you're dumb with your money and end up broke. At least you will have a name that will last forever even after you die. A name that your family from generations to come will be proud to have.

If you're smart with your money. You should fight for legacy. I know I would. Because legacy comes with money and you would make enough money that would last you a life time and after that life time your name will live on forever.

Of course its about business, you can't blame them for wanting to make the most money possible because only a select few can be successful in boxing. Most of these guys will retire before the age of 40 and you can't blame them for wanting to be financially secure.. whilst most of us will work until old age and not worry about the damage boxing can cause to our well being. Its a job for them and times have changed but I do agree a line has to be drawn somewhere.

I can see where you're coming from as a boxing fan. However, I'm gonna be the devil's advocate here because if you put yourself in their shoes I bet you will do exactly the same..I know I would! These guys start off for the love of the sport and become professionals & stars along the way. So that is their "profession", how they make a living just like you & me. Once you make money out of your profession then it is after all a business. I don't think its reason to hate someone for looking after numero uno. I'm a Pacquiao fan thru & thru but I do understand when Floyd said on 24/7 recently that they ARE "prizefighters" which is why he's really only doing this for $$$.
