De La Hoya is far from the first guy to care a lot about money and be a prima donna in negotiating. What matters to me is the end product, not necessarily the motivations of the fighters. And De La Hoya fought some real high-quality opposition during his career.

Mm? Lets not forget you're getting something for your money so no, its not 'generously' donated. These guys are in a very dangerous sport so for them there's no stable paycheck.. We should be privileged that we get to see our favorite boxers and if you have a problem with them wanting to make a lot of money then don't pay for tickets or PPV, its that simple. $50-60 bucks once or twice a year(depending which fighter) is not a lot.

Sure, but that's not what I was getting at. I'm happy to do my part in paying a fighter for their work, but in return they have to do something for the fans, which is fight good opposition. The better the fight is and the bigger the names, the more we'll pay. If it's a dud fight on paper, nobody should cough up.

In my opinion Oscar ruined boxing because it was all business and money to him first. He retired and Floyd Mayweather does the same stuff.
