Floyd long ago proved his worthiness as the top dog in his division.

Can't blame him if some fighters avoided facing him "until they were ready".

Nowadays, the only fight that really matters is May-Pacquiao for the P4P
      throne.

My wild guess is he still won't get his due credit by "some" fans if he beats Pacquiao. The current #1 welterweight champion.

He certainly also avoided fighters to take the easier path with only a little less of a pay day, you have to see that as well.

Pac and may wont get credit for beating anyone else from now on unless its at a 154 weight class until they face each other. Both will get full credit, a lot of people expect to see may or pac get k0d. I personally see floyd getting k0d within 6 rounds (no bias imo, dont support either but I can only predict on what I have seen by both) which is why I never see floyd vs pac happening, its just too much of a risk for floyd.

You might be right though, but they'll look bad at the end. How are they gonna criticize Floyd's win when they're the same ones who regarded Manny as the "best fighter of the decade"? There's no going back, no matter how much they'll try to nitpicking, Floyd would finally rest his case.

If Mayweather beats Pacquiao, people who don't give him credit can just be ignored. People like that just need to go away, same with people who wouldn't give Pac credit if he beat Mayweather.

And there would without question be people like that.

The only fight I think Floyd legitimately avoided over the years was Margarito. For all his technical deficiencies Margarito had the size, chin, workrate, power and ability to cut off the ring that Floyd wanted no part of.

That said, Floyd's ducking is blown out of all proportion by most "haters". He's taken on most of the biggest challenges, if not at the times and weights we wanted him to do so at.

I suppose, but Cotto showed no desire to make a fight with Floyd either. Margarito on the other hand chased Floyd down and called him out to his face and Floyd still didn't fight him.

we have all learned from the past that you can call mayweather out it makes no diff, he willl fight who he wants to fight. Pac hadnt really called may out but they are negotiating that fight....Floyd wanted to part of Cotto then....
