Diaz was not the best. He got the title handed to him for free. Joel Casamayor was the real champion, was stripped and Diaz got it without a fight. Joan Guzman was also in that division. Katsidis would have been a more legit opponent than Diaz. Diaz was like Floyd fighting Bruseles. Difference is, Bruseles wasn't a title fight.

i always thought he won with that hilarious knockout of Santa Cruz, but looking at boxrec it was the interim title he won, but the reality is...and i hate to say this, santa cruz beat casamayor, however that didint happen until much much later on that shane mosley/cotto undercard, so either way, santa cruz probably should have been the rightful beltholder regardless and it should have setup a rematch in 08 against diaz. if that happens then the pac fight doesnt happen.
