They can't fly straight if they tried and and do a one on one simple deal with a fighter.It just does not generate the interest and print so they say Katsidis/ Casa for a stay busy fight . Call out Maidana when they know he is tied up. Mention Alexander,Bradley and Marquez ,Diaz. Speculation and bull**** is always part of the post fight procedure. We were in the same spot with the proposed Marquez fight before Malignaggi was made as the next opponent. Right now it is just standard Team Khan crap talk but what do you expect from a them? July might be on ,might be off. Marquez is a bigger fight than Maidana. The usual garbage.

I don't think they have full intention but hedge their bets. Talk about a July fight keeps Khan in the Limelight they can also justify a soft opponent with the stay busy line which can then be extended to another date. They are very cynical but after you have watched their past moves they become very transparent.If a softie can be found and the money is right they will take a July fight but if they don't they still get the publicity gain.

This draws a parallel with the stunt they pulled in christmas of 2009/January new year, after the salita fight. They used the malignaggi fight as a "justification" for the marquez fight not happeneing, due to Marquez refusing to be used as a stepping stone.

They tried to fool the general public into thinking that marquez was somehow his madatory instead of maidana. They hid maidana away in a cupboard during the first press conference in london for the malignaggi fight:
