    That's a pretty dumb statement.

    If someone's fighting on HBO then they're getting more than 99% of what everyone in boxing is.

    HBO throws in a few million if it's a fight they want. I'm 100% sure Cotto didn't make more than 1.5 for his last fight and he's the biggest name on that list.

    Mosley's the only one that made more and it's because he went the PPV route with Mayweather or else he would've made around 2 mil.

        Miguel made 2 million plus a piece of the gate.

            I must've underestimated how much Cotto demands after the Pacquiao loss. He got around 1.5 for Clottey.

            Arum has said that Cotto was asking for too much after the Foreman fight, so... (now that I think about it, it probably is the reason Cotto-Foreman almost went to PPV).

            There's only so much you're gonna make on HBO because they got a budget. Cotto won't be able to fight just anyone to make what he wants.

              hE NEEDS TO FIGHT A WILLIAMS OR EVEN MOSLEY CAUSE HBO/ARUM WONT THROW COTTO OR MARGS IN THERE AND HBO WONT LET ANGULO GET HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM HE IS STILL COMING UP AND THEY ARE SAVING HIM FOR A SHOWDOWN WITH KIRKLAND

                I really hope that is a joke.

                On topic, awesome **** from Sergio. As everyone is saying, we need more champions like this.

                  Exactly and that is why I think Martinez is crazy to even speak of Miguel. Why would Miguel take on Sergio for pretty much the same amount of money that he made against Yuri? Just doesn't make sense. Martinez needs to get a better fanbase so the fight could be made as a PPV that people would buy. Haters do this all the time and would say Miguel is afraid but Martinez just can't bring anything to the big money makers in the sport.

                      And no, I’m not referring to the short-lived drama that was on ABC a few years back (which, by the way, I really enjoyed before it got canceled) but the list of nine fighters that Lou DiBella submitted to HBO that he says Sergio Martinez would face immediately. The names on that last are: Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Paul Williams, Kermit Cintron, Vanes Martirosyan, Alfredo Angulo, Felix Sturm and Sergio Mora.

                      Now, if they can only get him a date on the network, they can work from there. http://www.maxboxing.com/news/main-l...ns-perspective

                      Sergio is really showing what it is to be a champion, no ducking, no nothing. "HBO take your pick and I'll whoop their ass." is basically what he's saying.

                      HBO must be putting him on hold just in case Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations fall apart.
                      mad respect for Sergio.

                      :wank: (no ****)

                      i would like to see him fight Sturm next;
                      or a rematch with Margs or P Will if that fight doesn't go through.
