But I agree with you on the reason on why they are only having this talk now.

As far as your theory, I respect it but I dont think I can agree. I felt that March was the best time for them to make the fight made because they had the leverage in the negotiations owing the fact that Pac had momentum on his side, in terms of his PPV success of his fights, and the positive response he was getting from both media and the public..

My theory is that I felt that the demand for a huge weight penalty is what started the negotiations to bog down. This was never part of the original proposal. It was only added after Arum had the talk with Pac in the Philippines and relayed it to team Mayweather.

I felt that team Mayweather were insulted with the added stipulation so they countered it with a strict random drug testing, which was never really made in detail until Pac made that demand.

Remember all we knew about the initial proposal was that there was just goin' to be Olympic drug testing. We didn't know about the procedures as far as cutoff date, duration, blood testing, etc.. It was never really brought out in detail. And from there, things just got out of control..

Ok, Let me just say this (1) I wouldnt mind seeing this fight happen with or without testing. (2) I respect you personally as a poster/Pacquiao fans because you give Pacquiao a good name.

Back on the subject: I dont think Roach thought March was a good time for Pacquiao to fight someone like Mayweather because Pacquiao was coming off a great but bruising win over Cotto, He needed time to heal and most sensible fans also thought he should fight Mayweather in september at the time if i remember correctly.

The demand for the weight penalty was never a problem and was accepted after Arum came back without a problem, Remember that when Arum went to the phillipines he did so with the knowledge of OSDT! So unless they dont understand what olympic style test is.

    • This is getting ridiculous. What are people going to say if Pacquiao agrees to full testing and the fight is signed? Are people going to come up with a new set of excuses in case he loses? The fight is there to be made and I believe it will. Drug testing should never be the reason why a fight fails. Mayweather needs to stop the retirement talk. And Pacquiao needs to forget about cutoffs. And the fans should stop making excuses for both. Make the ****ing fight.

I guess we can agree to disagree then. You have your theory, I have mine.

        • USADA: No pay, no test. floyd paid up to Apr 23 only on Mosley fight. Thats why Tygart stop at 18 days. floyd already thought how to beat that random test even before he suggest it.

and you made this whole theory up with no facts to back it up, right?

            • IF Floyd did not pay the USADA testing for his Shane fight last May 1, WHO paid it then? Is it GBP? or NSAC? or is it Shane? or Floyd's fans?

              just asking...

There is plenty of time to make this fight happen, we'll just have to wait and see. I thnk the pressure to get this signed 6 months in advance falls squrely on the shoulders of Bob Arum, who in my opinion does not really want the fight to take place. Think about it, he keeps talking about IF the fight doesn't happen, he'll match Pac with one of his fighters- Cotto or Margarito. he could potentially make as much money being the sole promoter of one of those fights as he would with a split with GBP and he can have it in Texas too. Please keep everything in its proper context.

If Pac will lose to Floyd, then there shouldn't be a problem because Pac is already used to lost 3X. Floyd should get the full credit. The big problem here is whether Floyd will take the risk of maybe shall I say 10% chance of losing his 0 L to Pac..

How they know that Floyd could be roiding right now when he knows he will only going to be tested when he has a fight?
