the stadium was a good thing for boxing, expanding it, giving new yorkers, mostly, a chance to partake in such an event...nothing wrong with that. I'm sure you're just curious but who really cares who did better numbers, as fans, maybe some boxers compete for viewers, but all we should care about is quality opposition, good matches. Which is at times lacking, so we end up talking about some potential bout, between two guys that may never face each other...

So, you should've boycotted it because Cotto's next opponent may not be better than Foreman? Can you further explain? Wasn't Cotto a 1.5/1 favorite? Wasn't the fight competitive up until Foreman's knee gave up?

I think you missed the sarcasm in that sentence. Hint: there's a smiley.

like lampley said,at 147 they too fast for cotto,at 154 as long as he avoids williams and martinez and fights the slower ones,he'll be fine is what he was trying to say,and i agree, foreman is slow and no punch, just keep away from williams and martinez and he'll be ok.lol

A number of people on this thread are quibbling about who is a bigger draw between Mosley, Cotto, Pacquiao, Floyd, etc. Point is, this did decent ratings, even given that Cotto was considered possibly damaged goods, and Yuri Foreman had a reputation as a terribly boring fighter. Credit to Arum for successfully promoting Foreman, despite his "Boreman" reputation, credit to Foreman for showing tremendous heart to fight on that damaged knee, and credit to Cotto for stepping up in weight, dominating an undefeated title holder, and rebuilding his reputation.

So the question, as always after a fight, is what next? The whole welterweight division, and most of the big names around it, are all waiting to find out whether Pacquiao and Mayweather are going to fight each other, and that will determine the matchups for just about everyone else.

Me, I'd like to see Cotto fight rematches with Margarito, Mosley, or maybe even Judah, or fight Berto, Cintron, or Angulo. I don't think he's ready for Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez at the moment, but if he can beat any of those guys, he can step up to Williams or Martinez after that.
