lol. They just want him to fight but Haye won't do it.

That's what pissed them off. Haye used to say Wlad was ducking him...

      I can't wait for Haye-Harrison.

I can just see it now... The O2 Arena filled to the brim with businessman, talking about what a great business move this fight is, how much business sense it makes, how the boxing business is alive and well in England, about why David Haye is too smart on business matters to fight a Klitschko. Talking about how they know good business when they see it and how they spent 900 pounds to bring their business friends to the fight!!

And Just when they are wrapping up their business conversations the crowds looks up and sees the fight is over, they missed it, Audley Harrison KTFO in 20 seconds!!

What a great investment, what a great business venture!!!!

Move over Warren Buffet cause David Haye and Adam Booth are the real geniuses!!!

You're being melodramatic, and you are over-stating the situation.

He is not ashamed to face the media. Actually, I think that maybe you just dont like poor ol Mr Haye, and maybe you made all that stuff up

        * VIOLIN'S * " punchline for an entire online community " * VIOLIN'S *

I think that this is probably closer to the truth than that stuff you made up.....

Haye's maneuvered himself into a rather unenviable situation. He has to decide, does he want to remain a big local draw but basically jettison any hopes he might have for entertaining world stardom, or go the Klitschko route, probably lose and become a National laughing stock (but a rich one with some degree of his personal integrity intact).
Not only is it interesting to hear how most UK fans actually view this issue, or lack of issue, but I have to agree with this poster in the way that he has summed up the situation.

Haye has decisions to make. And he has options now.

This "coward" thing..... is fkn absurd.

I wrote some post a week-or-so ago, where I named like 20 fighters that have been labeled a coward by numerous posters over the last year.

          I COULD PROBABLY ADD 40 MORE !!

          Honestly.....
I am a well travelled **COUGH** young **COUGH** man, I've seen a bit of the world, and I've played a lot of sport. I even waved my gloves around for a few years..... and I never knew that so many boxers were cowards.

I have actually in my lifetime NEVER heard of, nor read, nor been witness to by any means..... of ANY sport, or any Group, Team, Company, Religion, Cult, Warrior, Race, nor even Political Party..... that had as many cowards as the sport of boxing. Who woulda thought?

If I were to believe even half of the "cowardice accusations" that I have heard leveled at sometimes even proven fighters within the last 12 months..... I may even think that the sport of boxing is chicken-****.

          Lucky I don't

you mean like in the fat eddie chambers fight when he took a obvious dive to get out the fight?? yeah good shout. i think haye and his team are dragging this **** out to long. but for how many years has wlad dodged david tue?? wlad has made his money flattening bums maybe haye needs some cash before he faces wlad.

Giving someone the benefit of the doubt is the exact opposite of being gullible. It's being led by facts rather than prejudice in either direction, which is something you seem to be incapable of. Your jumping to definite conclusions so early is as ridiculously prejudiced on one extreme as the people who still defend him at all costs now are on the opposite extreme.

Plus, he will step up eventually, he has no choice - just like Mayweather eventually fought a top Welterweight.

I don't think that's a fair comparison: first because Mayweather is not like most boxers, and is not admired by most boxing fans (although his skills are) precisely because he does put money way above everything else. I admit that's done him no harm financially, but my point is that his attitude is far from typical. All boxers want to make money, sure, but they mostly want to achieve respect just as much. And also, Mayweather already had a very good legacy and had already achieved a lot of respect before he re-invented himself as a money-first fighter.

Second because Hatton was a million times more credible as an opponent at that time, when he was undefeated and had just destroyed Castillo, than Harrison is now.

Third because Mayweather is not being a hypocrite. He is quite open about it just being about money for him, whereas Haye pretends that he wants to save the heavyweight division, and yet he doesn't back it up.

His Klitschko campaign gained him a lot of fans initially, but I think he's rapidly losing them again now.

No I was responding to your post in which you mentioned that Mayweather doesn't necessarily believe what he said, and I pointed out that while he uses hyperbole, he does more or less back it up in the ring, whereas Haye doesn't back up his talk.

I'm sceptical about the Harrison fight being such a big money spinner as is being claimed, but if it turns out to be true, it's a sad comment on the British media, who should be pointing out that Harrison has done nothing to deserve a shot and wouldn't have a hope of beating any top 20 Heavyweight. But they won't, they'll hype the fight. I like Booth's honesty about that fact though.

I also believe that his international earning power will be seriously damaged if he fights Harrison. HBO were salivating over Haye a year ago, and I think they're getting a bit tired of him now, and if he's not careful, they'll lose interest in him completely. And it was his international stardom that made Hatton the richest British fighter in history. He made very good money from his huge British fan base, but his earnings really took off when he became an international star.

I agree with you there, they were ****** to low ball him.

YOU will still pay your $50 to see that fight, I challenge you to deny that.
I'll probably watch it in my local bar for free, if it happens. And I'm far less excited about it now than I was a year ago or even immediately after the Valuev fight, both because I no longer believe that Haye believes he can win, and because the Ruiz fight exposed his defensive flaws so badly, especially his vulnerability to the jab.

He's reportedly been offered 50/50. That's a huge amount of money, if true (and Booth hasn't explicitly denied it). It'll certainly get the bills paid.

And that joke wasn't even funny. The guy was clearly unconscious before he even hit the ground. Plus there were only seconds of the fight remaining, so he had nothing to get out of. Ridiculous post.
