The way I see it, Haye hiding after all the trash talking he did when he first came up, after the man he wanted so badly to knock out made a video practically calling you a big pu$$y, after all his demands were met (when he didn't deserve them).... after all of that.. to hide and not fight W. Klitschko I have to say that in my 20+ years of watching boxing this is the biggest coward move in the history of boxing.
I don't care about any argument that is coming from Haye fans (and I can't believe he has any).. that he wants to have a few easy pay days as champ before Klitschko... NO... you can't talk all that trash then have a man call you out and not fight him. If a man makes his living with his fist you should be ready to respond to any challenge.... the challenge came from they man you were stalking and now he wants nothing to do with him? Im sorry but to me that spells coward. This is worse then when Bowe threw his belt in the trash to avoid fighting Lewis..
I can't believe Haye wakes up in the morning and is able to look at himself in the mirror. I can't believe he would actually fight anybody else next except Klitschko.... Haye in my opinion should sign the contract to fight klitschko or just retire.
Yeah he should just retire, as bad as HW boxing has been the last few years for there to be a "champion" walking around that is literally afraid to fight another champion hurts boxing even more. Come on the man made a video calling you out.... and all of a sudden you hide behind your promoter... then they give you 50/50 then you hide some more.... wow... you call yourself HW champ? nope Im sorry you might have a belt Haye but you are no champion. You're just a guy with a title looking to make some money the easy way... by fighting over the hill feather fisted guys.
Sorry for the rant, this just drives me crazy to hear.

Now that's what I'm talking about Dave, concise explanations that meet the usual high standard that we have come to expect. Great post as usual.
Now that you have explained your position in detail, I find that it is much more closely aligned to the way that I see things here..... your earlier comment "that's silly"..... just didn't cut it for me
He may or may not, but he wouldn't get away with that if he gave a bad performance in the ring. He totally dominated Mosley, who was generally rated the #1 Welterweight, to an extent that almost no one expected, so he was able to back up his talk. Plus, if he doesn't fight Pacquiao next, he'll damage his commercial pulling power in the long run.
Haye is losing all credibility by calling out the Klits and then running from them.
I do not really disagree with anything that you have stated here..... although I am sure that we will be discussing the Pac/May issue in more detail at some stage
But my comment was in reply to this..... "it makes all his trash talking and his claims to be the saviour of the division completely pathetic"
So whilst you may be correct when you say "Haye is losing all credibility by calling out the Klits and then running from them"..... he only got into that position by following Vit to Germany in order to ****** him in a public restaurant.
His only actual heavyweight achievement came after that, and even then it was only the golem.
So how can you be correct when you say that Haye is losing credibility here?
Haye is hardly in Mayweathers position.
Let me give you an example.....
You mention Mosley, which is interesting.....
Mayweather was accused of "ducking" Mosley for OVER THREE YEARS !!
Who gives a **** about that now?
Haye will fight a Klitschko, obviously..... just not until he is ready. Now that he has a title and holds a position within the Heavyweight division, he is nowhere near as desperate to face Vitali as he once was.
And if there is a huge payday waiting for him in Britain vs Harrison, then he will take that payday before even considering a Klitschko.
Anyone else would do exactly the same thing (rem May/Hatton?) including either Klitschko.
You have to back up your talk in the ring or you quickly lose the spotlight again. There is already less excitement about Haye-Klitschko among real boxing fans than there was a year ago, because most people no longer believe that Haye himself thinks he has any chance of winning. It's true that the Valuev and Ruiz fights did him no harm, but his apparent reluctance since then to sign a contract with Wlad has seriously damaged his credibility and therefore his earning potential, IMO. And he's lost the support of almost all boxing fans because of it.
Again, I do not really disagree with anything that you have stated here.....
But I do not think you have covered all of the base's when summarising this situation.
Haye had NOTHING !!
Now he has a title, he is a millionaire, and he has built a much larger fanbase THAN HE EVER HAD before he started his Klitschko campaign.
He is now like Paris Hilton, he's famous for ****-all.
Your comment above makes him sound like he was on Mayweathers level, and is slipping..... not the case. He was nothing, now he has alllllllllll these kids wanting to see him get his ass kicked by a K-Bro
You make it sound like he is so self-destructive, yet he holds a Heavyweight Title, is probably a multi-millionaire, has a HUGE UK PAYDAY as a plan B..... which he will most likely take.
Haye was ripe for the picking back when he had nothing. K2 should have jumped on him by paying him what he was worth instead of low-balling him..... now they have to wait, then they will have to pay.
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt when he fought Valuev and Ruiz, and it's true that the decision to fight Valuev - if you assume he will lose to either Klit - made financial sense. But the time for benefit of the doubt is over. He might have some casual fans left in Britain but hardcore fans even in Britain now mostly think he's a joke - and in the States, he has no fans left at all.
And if he does, the fight won't sell nearly as well as it could have done, because he's losing credibility, and because people are starting to think that even he doesn't think he has a chance of winning.
Maybe, and yet..... if Haye fights Harrison, then Smith, then Jones, then Fred, then Harry..... and then in 2 years time SIGNS TO FIGHT A KLIT..... YOU will still pay your $50 to see that fight, I challenge you to deny that.
Now you're being silly again - the man's already a multi-millionaire, as you stated in a previous post. He could retire now and live quite happily on just the interest from his savings if he wanted to.
He is now like Paris Hilton, he's famous for ****-all.
Actually, he is more like Lindsey Lohan.
He had the look, he had the style, he burst on the scene, had a couple good big screen moments and garnered a great deal of attention.
Now he is gone from the TV's into hiding, is ashamed to face the media, his own fans have turned their backs on him and he has become a punchline for an entire online community.
