where do you rate Joe Walcott and Georges Carpentier ?, one was a WW beating HW and one was a Flyweight beating HW.
Georges Carpentier was a flyweight when he was 14. By Age 19 he was a full-time light heavyweight. He never became world champion in any weight class except light heavyweight. Rather than being a flyweight beating heavyweights, it would be more accurate to say that he was a light heavyweight beating heavyweights.

Top 10? it is nobody boxing today worthy of being Top 10, most of these guys wouldn't have survived in Leonard, Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Arguello, Pryor Era's, not even sure if they make it out of the Chavez, Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor ERA so how can anyone just leapfrog these guys over all those other legends and proclaim them as Top 10 all times, sometimes people PRIDE can turn into pure ignorance
Championships are great but that is so watered down now because it is so many damn titles, it was more impressive when everyone in each division was chasing 1 belt, look at boxing now: for example in the 140 lbs division: Khan, Bradley, Alexander, Maidana...THEY ALL HAVE BELTS! so collecting World Championships won't be hard, so someone like Jose Benavidez will have a great and much easier chance of breaking that Championship record because again it is so many Championships now
I think you can make just as good of a case that Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Haggler, etc. would lose to the best modern fighters as you can make for them beating the best modern fighters. Also, the 4-belt era already started by the end of the 1980's, so winning a belt now is no different than winning a belt was for Chavez or Whitaker.
To say he would beat all Weltweights save SRR and SRL is absurd I wouldn't give him wins over, Mosley, De La Hoya, Trinidad and Vernon Forrest when they were in their primes.
They'd clean his clock.
Pacs win over De la hoya proves that he would of beaten even a prime DLH as DLH would never of been able to cope with Pacquiaos speed.
Mosley's prime was at lightweight where he fought substandard opposition, he later lost to Cotto at WW who was destoryed by Pacquiao.
Trinidad lost to DLH, the judges robbed DLH. Forrest lost to Mayorga by KOed he would not of been able to cope with Pacs power.
As I say SRL and SRR are the only ones to give Pac a competitive fight.

I agree. Pac has more amazing resume than SRL. If Pac in the old school era of SRR and fighting more often. He will have a comparable record. Just imagine how many Good fighters Pac beat up in his sparring sessions? Put everyone he beat up in sparring and Pac's resume will be comparable to SRR. You can easily put Vasquez, Khan, Guerrero, Valero, Donaire, Castillo, Ortiz, Linares, and many others in Pac's resume. These were top fighters getting schooled in sparring with Pac.
Pac has won a record 7 world titles which is incredible considering he missed out at least two weight classes. Could go on to beat Cotto which will make him an 8 weight champion, a record that noone will ever come close to beating.
Wins over Morales, Barrera, JMM, Hatton, Cotto, DLH show that he delivers in the big fights. The Henry Armstrong of our era.
A win over Mayweather will mean he would of beaten another ATG. We should all apreciate the greatness that is Manny Pacquiao an inspiration to his people and a true global icon.
The likes of Duran, Hearns, Hagler would not be able to cope with the P4P king. I can see SRL outboxing Pac early on in the fight but Pacs awkward angle punching will mean that he stops SRL late on.
SRR would be a 50/50 tossup. However who better than Roach to come up with the perfect game plan to beat him. I can see Pac posing the same problems Jake La Motta did.
****ing crazy is all I gotta say...Don't let Manny's greatness blind you, just because you had the opportunity of following a great fighter's career while in his prime doesn't mean he can surpass Boxing's legendary #1 P4P of all times, before you try to match with Robinson, try to match him up with the rest of the best welterweights of all time not the best, IMO Pac would never had a chance against Leonard or Hearns let alone pairing him up with the best welterweight to ever lace up the gloves.

Well, this just proves how great he really is... Listen, a welterweight beating the brakes off everyone from flyweight to lightweight in sparring is ATG material. Jesus.

I don't think so, I think Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler would dominate this current ERA of boxing who would beat Hagler at 160 today? Paul Williams? Sergio Martinez? Kelly Pavlik? and at 147 guys don't even want to fight Paul Williams so you know they all would be running from Hearns who is just as big as Williams but with a deadly right hand, Duran at 135 was a MONSTER, you honestly believe Pacman would stand a chance at 135 with Duran??? Duran at 135 was DEADLY! Sugar Ray Leonard even though I did not like him because I was a bigger Hagler fan, but Sugar Ray style would dominate in todays boxing
that is why I have a problem when people try to put Pacman or even Mayweather very high on the all time rankings, like someone else posted they are both Top 50 All Times but to put them Top 10? that is VERY Debatable
