  • Think if it was you and you got your ass beat wouldnt u want a rematch evem more than a fight u won?? and if u get your ass handed to you again its not really a big deal lol So in my eyes Cotto has alot to gain in rematch and not much to lose..

and people try to say hes scared to rematch Tony

      • That does sound like an interesting fight....I wouldn't mind seeing it againg....

I would rather see Cotto face Alfredo Angulo.....He is in the 154 weight division...he should fight the best 154 fighters.....

        • He's got courage, but Steward should just slap him until he sees that he cannot possibly beat Pacquiao. It's just different leagues. He doesn't have the stamina to match Pac-Man's pace or the precision to counterpunch him all night.

why do people get annoyed about boxers doing this? their name IS a brand.

            • Miguel can and will rematch the packman and win at 154. Manny can't put on that much weight and be the same fighter, Miguel will be too strong and more than willing to return the favor. Plus, it's all about money and manny will take a dive and make it a two out of three...lol

              • It's not impossible that he could beat him at 147 with better coaching/training, he was doing well in the first 4 rounds, it's unlikely he'd win, but not impossible.

If he's gonna have a great trainer who brings strategy and discipline to Cotto and the team, which he hasnt had in his last 4-6 fights.

if his new trainer is capable of making and enforcing in fight adjustments which Cotto lacked and is the reason why he would get on his bike and counter..cuz he had no clue what to do.

All these are what contributed to him losing to Pacquiao..if he's improving these greatly..i dont see how u guys can say It'll be the same or worse for Cotto...i guess im talkin to fighter fans and not boxing fans.
dude, i'm a HUGE cotto fan, but he's close to being shot. he's a different fighter now, he doesn't have ANY killer instinct whatsoever right now

cotto is a pressure fighter. no matter what he improved under steward, he'll never be the same fearless fighter that he was prior in his career. there's NO WAY of beating pacquiao if you hesitate. cotto hesitated plenty of times during foreman's fight, even after foreman hurt himself

i still love cotto as a fighter. he still brings tons of entertainment to his fights, but he won't beat pacquiao or any world class pressure fighter (maybe angulo or a pretty worn out pressure fighter)

                    • If Cotto fights Pacquiao at Super WW/Jr Middleweight it could conceivably be another "Catchweight" fight for the all time catchweight fighter. It could be billed as "Cotto VS Pacquiao Catchweight II" or "Cotto vs Pacquiao II : The Catchweight Saga Continues".
