I'm surprised so many people want Cotto to rematch Margarito. You're all assuming Margarito is completely incapable of doing the exact same thing he did the first time.

It's probably not an easy fight for Cotto, and Margarito simply doesn't deserve that big a fight right now.

It's not new. He always talks about himself in the third person or first person plural, like if he were a team by himself. It's quite annoying, but whatever, I just like seeing him fight. =)

Ideally, Cotto should take another fight or two before facing Pacquiao again but when the opportunity for that kind of fight comes up, you take it because you never know if you're gonna get that chance again. People keep talking about how he got dominated in the last fight. True, but he lasted almost 12 rounds and left Pacquiao with a puffy eyes and a bandage around his head. With Steward in his corner now, he'll at least have someone who is teaching him good technique and strategy. But it has to be at a weight limit of no less than 147. None of this catchweight crap.

I bet he'll be against team Pac if they want him to weigh no more than 147.1 fight night for his 154lb title.... or else they will penalize him 10 million for every pound over.

Other than that I'm sure he'll agree to a pay day.

Now, I know many people will think I'm crazy, but I think from a business point of view, Cotto's best fight could be with Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather may agree to this fight at this point in time because he knows Cotto brings a few fans himself and probably considers Cotto to be shot.

But looking at it from Cotto's point of view: 1) if you lose, it's no shame, you lost to the best, 2) huge payday, 3) more than likely it won't be a war and you won't get ko'd, you'll just get potshot all night long - indeed, if you stick to Steward's instructions, it might be fairly boring and a great payday for that.

not necessarily that he'll get spanked, however pac might ask Cotto to drain himself again and fight somewhere between 148 & 150 and Cotto trying to score one more giant payday might just go for it. But its disgusting how Arum, Roach and Pac would feel accomplished while having a complete edge. If you fight for a certain belt at a certain weight class, then you should make the weight or atleast let the opponent fight where he's comfortable as long as he's under the weight limit.

well i'm a big Cotto fan and if he's gonna fight big fights and that's all there is, then he might as well go for the biggest possible fight in Mayweather and score the big payday just like everyone else that's aiming for floyd. Cotto has not much to lose being that no one expects him to win even myself, although i'll be rooting and hoping. And he has sooo much t gain if he were to pull off the improbable of impobables.
