Does Marquez owe Pacquiao for his fame?

Where would Marquez be without the two Pac fights?

Most of the boxing world knows Marquez as "the guy who gave Pac trouble", so if Marquez had never fought Pac, where would he be in his career right now?

He makes bad business decisions. Fighting Pac was his best two. Hed be known amongst mexicans.

Marquez isn't much without Pac, fame wise
        he's a very talented fighter
        Marco is his best win
Diaz and Casamayor are good too
but he'll always be Pac's tag along
        the Floyd fight didn't help

in his 11 year pro career before the 1st pacquiao fight , marquez's best win was against an old manuel medina.

          enough said.

unless you think derrick gainer is his best win before fighting pac.

Would he have even gotten the Floyd fight if he hadn't fought Pacquiao?

No, Floyd would've still cherry picked him.
