why stop with the making weight issue against pac?

let's open everything up for debate.

because to me that's how silly the ts's conclusion is.

hell, last night proved that yuri was just pretending to be ***ish.
Na, that was proved back in Jan of '09 when he was destroyed by Shane Mosley. If you remember hearing Lampley, he said he doesn't recall hearing those thudding blows from Margarito the way he heard in the Cotto fight. People talk about confidence and boxing being more mental then anything. Against Shane, Tony knew he was done from round 1. Even Lampley noticed how there was more concern then ****yness coming from his corner compared 2 the Cotto fight. Also, knowing that sooner or later the plaster packed punches will take their toll can fuel a fighter 2 keep going no matter what is thrown at him.

Yeah it was Cotto's idea. Pacquiao nd Roach originally said they wanted it at 142. The point is that a catchweight was demanded on behalf of Team Pacquiao.

yep, but 145 was cotto's number, meaning cotto knew he could make it and not be effected by it

Cotto is one of my favs, but, this doesn't make any sense. He looked faster/moved much better.. at 147 than he did last night. He was just in there with an ATG in manny... Nothing to get down about.

Dude untuck your **** and be a thinking man, you ain't a ***** so don't act like one. I said the guy looked stronger last night. More fit than he did at 145lbs last year. How can that not be considered? I don't have a vested interest in hating Pacquiao so take it for what it is.

You responded without reading because you and a whole lot of your fellow Pacquiao stans are emotional bitches who go off calling people names if they dare say anything disagreeable about your God.

I say what I want to say about boxing. I don't invest my emotions in these fighters, so I don't feel the need to whine like you. I'm an objective person. I said in my Original post I think Pacquiao would've beat Cotto anyway. The southpaw style and the crazy angles and speed are the reason why.

The only difference would've been Cotto making it out of the fight without being KO'd. I can't make it anymore simple than that, so everybody kiss my ass if you have a problem with it.

I know he wouldnt but thats what i think is needed to be honest, Let cotto take 2 or 3 fights where he would just get his confidence, belief back then go after the top dog at 154 then retire.

His hand was forced (get loads of $$$). It's too much money to bicker about advantages or disadvantages (Floyd are you reading?). They wanted what was it 144, so he agreed to 145? It's still an advantage to Pac.

what you be the purpose of a thread like this...

"if there was no catchweight, cotto would still have lost to pac but it would have been via decision."

because if that was your thread title, ppl wouldn't get the impression that you were making this weight issue out to be a major fight changer.

It was a major fight changer. Cotto could've had his career ended because he wasn't at his best against a killing machine like Pacquiao that didn't need any extra advantages to begin with. The man was in a weakened physical condition. I'm not gonna sugar coat these facts.
