His legs aren't shot like Freddie Roach is saying but he isn't exactly the same fighter he was at 130-135, or even at 140. As the years went by, as he aged, and as he was an active WW, his legs slowly declined. And maybe you can throw in the 2 years of inactivity. Nothing knew.
I posted up an article with SRR talking about his legs at only 31 not being the same as they used to. Even in other sports, Football, Soccer, basketball, etc, some athletes do decline once they hit 30 in the leg department.
Going back to SRR; Now given, SRR fought over 100 fights by then, but there is a point to be made about Floyd's age relative to how much wear and tear he has put on his body through Fighting, and I'm adding in how much he goes through in training camp. Those sparring sessions are exactly easy.
Oh, and Roy Jones Jr. declined as well once he hit his early 30's...even before the Ruiz fight.
His legs are still strong but that don't seem to have the stamina and fast agility like they used to. Think Post-exile Ali compared to Pre-exile Ali.
