I think that if Foreman had not injured his knee and the fight had continued to the end of round 12 in the same vein, Foreman would have won comfortably.

It's a shame that the fight wasn't stopped after Foreman injured himself, but he showed immense courage by continuing to fight literally on one leg.

Cotto is a great fighter, but Foreman beat him literally in every round until the accident. I would love to see a rematch when Foreman's knee is back to normal.
LOL, some people are just ******ed if Foreman was on his way to winning comfortably then why was down 79-73 on two judges scorecards and 78-74 on another. Get Yuri's nutsack out of your mouth he was getting beat down reguardless of the knee he was going down.

Yuri was starting to take over the fight before the injury.
Cotto was cuz Yuri got his leg hurt.Him crediting it to the game plan was just silly.

Arthur Mercante Jr is an idiot

I have to say, I am honestly wondering which fight some people were watching. There was no "Yuri was coming on" or no "Yuri was owning", whatsoever in this fight. This was a one sided affair from beginning to end, with a little bit of a push by Yuri in round 4. He got outboxed and I think would've gotten ko'd without the knee injury. Cotto's punches were rocking him from the start. Did you not see the few times Yuri hanged on to the ropes after a Cotto punch? Even Cotto's jabs were hurting him. I am amazed and perplexed that there is any kind of controversy regarding this fight. The only controversy here is that Mercante should've stopped this fight himself after he saw Foreman wobbling. Then Miguel would've won the fight something like 6-1.

Cotto looked pretty good. Really liked how he was cutting off the ring (b4 the injury of course) and establishing his jab. A great body shot to close the show. Impressive for being his first fight since back back KO's.

As for Yuri, that kid showed heart and had no quit in him. I give him all the credit in the world. Hes what a champion is made of. He was having success against Cotto early on and was still fighting and making a match, after his knee was all but shot. I think he gained many fans after that performance.

Good fight, GREAT EXPERIENCE for the fans in Yankee Stadium.

The gameplan for Cotto was to throw jabs and get back to the body...which he did...in no way was Yuri taking over the fight...rd 4 was the only round he won.

It incidents like this, the physician should not focus on the cuts on the face then stop the fight then decision, they should also include incidents like this when foreman sprained his legs. they should have gone to the score cards at the time of the accident, that is why cotto lead in the scorecards at the time of stoppage because he took the advantage for the rounds 7,8 and 9. but without the accident, cotto's ass would be whooped by foreman. I am a cotto fan, but the way he won the fight was not impressive for me. He is not back, a rematch would be made after this.
What fight were you watching? WOW!!!!!!
