Pac-Morales. The Castillo vs Corrales was too slow paced for me, I mean the tempo of the fight. It was like they were in round 12 from the 1st round and throwing punches sparingly, as in 1 punch instead of combinations. Watch Hearns vs Duran, gatti vs ward II rnd 3 and barrera vs Morales rnd 5 to know what i mean by fast paced fight. The punch count for castillo vs corrales isnt too great. I rate the Arce fight above it too.
I know what you mean by fast paced...
IMO it was still more exciting, because Morales-Pacquiao was more one sided
I liked the Castillo-Corrales match even though it was an inside fight and slow paced because it was even. They were giving it all they had in the center. I loved the fact that Corrales decided to fight Castillo's type of fight.
It was better than Morales-Pac because it was back and forth. In like round 8 at the very end Castillo rocked Corrales and had him running on chicken legs for a couple seconds. And then the next round Corrales made Castillo do a little boogie dance.
One of the other reasons this fight it great is because it had an ending. It had the best comback I have ever seen.
On that list, Mayweather vs. Gatti was the best fight. Mayweather's the best fighter on that list and he beat the **** out of Gatti, someone I hate, so it was great for me.
Judah vs. Spinks 2 would obviously be my favorite fight of the year. My favorite fighter beat a fighter I don't like, beat the **** out of him too. At the end of the night, it was the fight that made me the happiest of any fight in a long ass time.
I still look back on that night and just have to smile. Undisputed! That means anybody wanting it at Welterweight HAS TO COME TO JUDAH. No more of this ducking bull****. Judah's in the driver's seat now. If these ******s want the welterweight title, they HAVE to go through Judah, which...heh, they can't.
Before I respond to the above quoted post....
It's easily Corrales-Castillo.
Damien Corso,
I think it's cute that you believe any fight your favorites win is the best of the year.
Now, take Zab Judah's **** out of your mouth....& speak like a boxing fan, instead of a fan boy.
I'm one of the biggest and most outspoken Morales fans on this board, and he put on a hell of a fight with Pacquiao, but Castillo/Corrales was a RARE fight.
You won't see another fight like that for a long time folks. Non-stop action and power punching for 10 rounds, two elite fighters, and all of the drama in the end that you could ask for.
The build-up for Pacquio/Morales is the 1 and only reason one could even consider that fight being better or more exciting that the Corales/Castillo match. Lest they never heard of the latter AND they turned to HBO after Corales went down for the second time.
Corales/Castillo was action packed with 2 hard hitters hurting one another and then the last round had to be one of the greatest EVER.
This fight is in my top five all-time with Morales/Barrera 1, Hawk vs. The Thin Man, Leonard vs. Hearns 1, Gatti/Ward 1, Sal Sanchez vs. Azumah Nelson.
