I dont know, We see people walk In and adapt to MMA like any other sport.
We have seen people from other fields easily adapt to MMA, from wrestlers, Fake wrestlers, kick boxers, Ex/failed/retried Boxers, Long time street fighters, all find of martial artist, NFL players, baseball players, etc... And when I say adapt I mean They get put into the spot light and promoted and put on PPV's by MMA so fast. Its like if your athletic or strong and put in a strong 1-2 years of training you can have some kind success in MMA. Be in your Mid to late 20's and try that **** in any other sport (Baseball, Football (both), Boxing, swimming, tennis, etc...) you're going to fail bad. Its very very hard to adapt and transition to other sports unless you are a super gifted athlete already off top. Its like Lesner trying to get in the NFL he failed, tried MMA... Instant contender and superstar, what other sport could he have pulled some **** like that off? You have so many Athletes in MMA that failed in the original sport of their choice. And saw MMA as the next/last option. You see all kind of trash, old, late to mid 20's, retired, second and third rate athletes, transition and jump into MMA like its nothing all the time. If they can do it, Mayweather sure as hell can.
The guy who put Kimbo Slice into MMA was Gary ***ing Shaw a boxing promoter. And lesner never played Football ever and failed because of that. He made it into the UFC because he was an NCAA collage wrestling champ. Collage wrestling is essentially amature MMA, just like Ju Jitsu could also be considered amature MMA. Seriously being suprised that Lesner got so good so quick is like being suprised that a gold medal amature boxer becomes a good pro boxer. Wrestling is one of the fundamental techniques of MMA just like head movement and footwork are to boxing. He's a master wrestler which is one of the foundations of a good Mixed Martial Artists.
And all these second rate washed up athletes that choose MMA all failed miserably at it. All the top fighters and **** even the journeyman have been studying nothing but fighting for years and years and years. So yeah maybe a few yahoos from other sports give it a try but doesn't mean they actually succeed at it. You do understand there is a diffrence between trying something and succeeding at it right?Comment

I can name a couple on top of my head that are masters in their own art. But guarantee most MMA fighters are not a master of one particular art. Just look at that over-rated so called "martial artist" Forrest Griffin.
1. Anderson Silva= Jiu jitsu
2. Cung Le= Sanda, Kung Fu
3. Machida= Karate
4. GSP= Kyokushin karateComment

Griffen is one example out of thousands of Ju Jitsu Black Belts, Judo black belts, Kickboxing champions, and even Collage Level Wrestlers.
Trust me fighters like griffen are in the minority.Comment

Who the *** said that Floyd or Hopkins called out any one in particular? Can you read mother***er? Do I need someone to sign language it to you? i said they talked **** "about" the sport dumbass!!!! not about anyone in particular.
And I'll post how much Shane has made the second you post how much any top UFC fighter has made over their last 5 fights. And don't pick some midcarder either.
YOU told me I should tell Floyd and Hops the same thing I told this UFC nobody. Which is that if you call to fight someone, get into their zone and do it, instead of *****-ing out on twitter. Problem is, neither Floyd nor Hops say they want to fight MMA guys.
They have a right to dislike the sport though. There is nothing wrong with that.
I found you GSP's earnings. Since you want to discount Shane's last fight...
UFC 100 - 400K.
UFC 94 - 400K.
UFC 87 - unreleased.
UFC 83 - unreleased.
UFC 79 - 160K.
So Im fairly certain Shane made significantly more then the 2nd biggest UFC draw. But Ill be waiting for you to post his earnings though. So we can laugh at you together.Last edited by 17scenes; 06-02-2010, 05:45 PM.Comment
