Yes so what's the problem? ALi fought in the HEAVYWEIGHT division.

The present day has no superiority over that era,

      How old are you?
Exactly. You admitted he was a president.

I answered it already. You are free to live in a world with outdated definitions.

Hey, your avatar doesn't look like a modern fashion I would recognize either.

No you didn't. This is a key point that you can not refute.

The fact is that muhammad ali fought in the heavyweight division.

That you called it a "heavyweight fight" is completely irrelevant.
That is your opinion then. It was a heavyweight fight consistent with the standards then. What is your motive in changing the record of Ali?

I'm Asian. 5'4" in height. Normal height for us but midget is terms of US or European standards. I went to Austria 2 years ago and was able to fit in a 100 year old standard issue armor for fighters in Graz, Austria. That means people were much smaller then. That means that what is 200lbs HW fighters now may be 150lb fighters then. The norm increases as time goes by.

If you want to call Ali as a LHW now, fine. That is your prerogative.

In basketball? Are you from the US?
Yes. No. It is just an analogy. It means current standards are sometimes not applicable on past events.

Ali _DID_ fight partly in what we call now heavyweight division. And partly what we call now cruiserweight division. The cruiserweight division was called heavyweight division then. What is there not to understand?

Actually the WOMEN's division nowadays is heavier than Ali's heavyweight division now.

Thus if you want to call tiny Ali a heavyweight then call him champ in the woman's heavyweight division.

No, Ali fought FULLY in the heavyweight division according to the rules in that era. Now you can't come along many years in the future with a new definition and try and supperimpose on that era.

The reason is that the ALi era was in a diffferent time frame.

I do not want to change Ali's record. That is the whole point.

Ali's record stays exactly how it is.

I do not want to erase Robinson (170+ lbs) off Ali's record.

But you need to compare Ali vs Robinson NOT to modern heavyweight fights but to modern cruiserweight fights of course. That Ali vs Robinson has been called "heavyweight" is completely irrelevant (except for historians).
