This fight to me will be competitive if floyd will use his size advantage and try to bully pac in the ring but floyd is not that kind of fighter who uses his size in the fight.

So when you imagine this fight in your head, can you really see pacquaio penetrating floyds defence?

I think floyd would do a much much much better job at outboxing manny than erik morales.

      on the other hand:

If pacquaio holds back on his punches and doesn't over commit during the first 4 rounds than pacquiao has a real chance to win this fight. The reason is that floyd will not have any punch patterns to figure out during the first 4 rounds.

To prevent floyd from adapting you should not give away your punch patterns so early in the fight.
It will be another cotto-pacquiao fight...Manny will just bulldoze Floyd into submission...Manny just going to walk thru Floyd feather fisted job...Manny by Brutal beat-down against Floyd!

I have a feeling he will use everything to punish Pac since he's an Arum fighter...

I for one, am anticipating watching the different clashing of styles. These 2 guys are the best, they have different styles, which will prevail? I can't make a prediction, but I'll tell you what, as much as Floyd did impress me against Mosely, who almost had a chance to take it but blew it, I'm dying to see these styles conflict.

Which is the more effective style against the style of the opponent? I'll say this, I won't doubt Manny's abilities again. I think i see just as much a battle of the brains as a physical battle. They are both smart, maybe Floyd a bit smarter, but Manny has other things Floyd doesn't. Such as the obvious legwork, stamina, killer instinct...etc.

He could do that to an opponent who will just stand in front of him but pac will circle floyd and will go in and out he will make floyd like an amateur in the ring, floyd can't against pac if he will play defense first he needs to be an aggressive to at least win a round against pac and if he play that part, pac will confuse him with his foot speed. I just can't see floyd win against pac.

I really can't predict it. Two real modern legends with incredibly different styles and skills. I just wish they'd make the fight so we can all see how it plays out in reality.

IMO, we will never know until they get in the ring. Too many intangibles to figure out. I predict a competitive 6-8 rounds with each man adjusting according to the other's fight plan. Then the rest would be dictated on who wants it more.

-- on the basis of their last fights
I like the way Pac increased his workrate as soon as he saw Clottey not opening up. He was not discouraged/frustrated and continued to go to whatever is available. An occasional accurate flush shot from Clottey did not deter him as well in pouring it on. He would need this type of mentality because Floyd will make him miss a lot.

I like the way Mayweather reacted after that shot by Mosley. It means his will to win is still there. He has been cruising on most of his opponents at JWW and up that he was never in trouble. Before that mosley fight, I was thinking that if Pac gets Floyd in trouble he might just fold considering he never had to dig deep in a very very long time.

                  This fight would be great.

Manny will give Floyd the most trouble he has had.............for 3-5 rounds. After that it's DOMINATION. Timing beats speed every time and once Floyd figures out the distance, timing, and handspeed of Pac going in and out it's over. The awkwardness of a SP is Manny's key to victory he will need to capitalize early because or have several different plans so he can't be figured out by Floyd. However, Floyd is a better counter puncher than JMM and looking at Pac's style a counter puncher is his worse type of opponent. It will be an unbelievable bout SEE YOU IN VEGAS!

Where do people come up with this garbage that Manny can't fight going backward. Didn't he put Hatton to sleep while the guy was just rushing in and Manny countered him perfectly. He did the same exact thing to Cotto, even in the Marquez II he feinted Marquez and put him on the canvas. The fact that Manny can and DOES fight going backward because he punches back, and he hits hard as hell doing so. The guy can be countered as Marquez showed, not that if you pressure him you'll lose. Lets be real DLH, Hatton and Cotto all tried the punisher approach and look where that got him.

The reason Manny wins is speed, and Mayweather is the only guy on Manny's level with that. If a guy can counter just as fast as you are throwing you're going to have problems, and its what makes that bout so exciting. Both guys are so evenly matched in terms of speed, Manny uses it to KO you and Mayweather uses it to avoid punches and take the fight out of you, instead of taking you out of the fight. Who wins is really a toss up, but if I had to choose this moment I'm going to say Manny would slightly win, but it would inevitably be a trilogy and I'd take May the next two fights.
