You have lost your mind if you think London is neutral grounds.

Hatton takes out KT, now he's gonna fight a borderline journeyman? WOW!

I think that if any good boxer went into the ring with the same respect that most of you have for Maussa, Maussa would win. The fact is that Maussa started boxing in columbia, and was a three time amature champion. His only real beating came at the hands of Miguel Cotto, a TKO in the eigth. The way he boxes does not look pretty, but he fights good that way. I think that if Harris finally screws his head to his shoulders he would prabobly beat Maussa, but KHTFO?? nah.

I don't see any boxer taking an "easy" bout between tough assignments to be a bad thing. Two top three p4p opponents, with a beltholder in the middle? Not so bad. Even the mighty Ali wasn't averse to travelling to Ireland to tackle Al "Blue" Lewis on occasion. They all do it - if this was an exception I could understand it, but I think it has more to do with dislike of Hatton than any other factor.

That said, his fiery trainer Billy Graham (Quote: "Do you think we're ****ing ****** or something?") didn't want Mouser, and if bad-tempered Frank Warren (Quote: "Whadda you mean, eh?!!?") does want it, the best fight will be behind closed doors between those two...

Granted... I can't see a Hatton vs Maussa fight lasting more than 1 or 2 rounds, but Hatton would have beaten the WBA champion, and taken his belt.

Just because the WBA champion happens to be useless... If Hatton had blasted Vivian Harris out of there in 1 or 2 rounds what's the difference?
I see your point, but the Maussa is terrible, he's effective but as raw as they come.

I suppose he'd have beaten the champ to win the belt, it wouldnt be like someone had gifted it to him. Harris had won a few decent fights so i suppose Maussa beat the man(only in WBA terms) so he's now the man.

I don't think Hatton's going to want to fight him either - he's looking to increase his respect - and beating Maussa does nothing for that
If Hatton had agree terms with Mayweather for late 2005, then decided to take Maussa as a warm up before i'd be happy. There's no harm in him fighting someone on Maussa level if he's already agreed to fight a decent opponent very soon after. It would be like a puplic sparring session.

It'll be entertaining for as long as it lasts no matter who Maussa fights. Awkward fighters like Maussa while spaz's are always more difficult to fight than you think they will be.
