I really dont want the fight to happen but it would be OK if he showed Harris how to do it properly. Just because i dont like Harris and Hatton would make the insult of defeat by maussa even worst by blasting him out.

If Hatton won the WBA title from Maussa i wouldnt consider it a legit way of winning it, he'd have to defend it against Mayweather or Cotto for me to consider him the real WBA champ.

But i dont even know why i'm saying this, i'll be pissed off if he fights anyone other than Mayweather, i think thats a fight that can be made if Mayweathers super sized ego doesnt demand too much money.

Granted... I can't see a Hatton vs Maussa fight lasting more than 1 or 2 rounds, but Hatton would have beaten the WBA champion, and taken his belt.

Just because the WBA champion happens to be useless... If Hatton had blasted Vivian Harris out of there in 1 or 2 rounds what's the difference?

        Warren: Hatton vs Maussa?
Promoter Frank Warren said today that a unification fight between IBF 140lb champ Ricky Hatton and WBA champ Carlos Maussa is "an option." Warren acknowledged a rematch clause between Maussa and dethroned champ Vivian Harris, but asked "Who is going to want to watch that rubbish again and which TV company is going to pay for it?" Warren also lashed out at Harris, whom he says rejected a $750,000 offer to fight Hatton. "Harris should have taken the money because now he will have to fight for peanuts," said Warren. "But I knew he was an idiot because after he turned down the fight with Hatton he took on Oktay Urkal for a fraction of the money we were offering him. I've never seen a champion look so bad in the ring. He was unfit and badly out of shape, I don't know what his trainer Manny Steward had been doing with him in the gym."

Vivian Harris will exert his rematch clause and defeat maussa, I believe.

How do you think Harris is going to fight Maussa if a rematch happens?? he tried to rush him last time and got beat, i doubt someone with that kind of ego will be happy without a KO against a bum.

IMO he'll need to put it all on the line and try to KO him to gain some respect back.

I'm not sure if its ego so much that he's a headcase. What I mean is that his outbursts at the presser and his performance against Maussa all seemed to me that he was desperate to be accepted in the elite class of 140 fighters. I mean he was desperate the way a kid is desperate for attention...little to do with ego. I mean, look at him after the fight, dude needs to get his head straight fast. If he does, than you might see a whole new fighter.

I think even if Harris gets a re-match with Maussa and KO's him in the 1st round it won't reverse what's already happened.

The damage has already been done.

The fashion Harris got beat in, the way a bum with no boxing skills threw wild punches with his chin in the air, (and it's not even as if Maussa got lucky and KO'd Harris with a lucky shot)... Maussa was up on the scorecards at the time, and making Harris look like a fool.

I just don't know how a fighter can back from that... (Exposed?) :duuno:

Another way for Hatton to ride the gravy train.

Harris obviously has superior skills than maussa. I think he won't take any chances in the rematch. He will box maussa instead of trying so desperately to go for the KO.

On another note, Hatton should not fight Maussa. Hatton should continue fighting top caliber fighters instead of going back to the bums that he's been facing.

Billy Graham laughed at the idea that Hatton might fight Maussa - he said 'I don't think people would have it, would they?'

I don't think Hatton's going to want to fight him either - he's looking to increase his respect - and beating Maussa does nothing for that
