Reports: Lucian Bute will fight Jesse Brinkley next

According to reports coming out of Montreal, Lucian Bute's next opponent in the summer will likely be Jesse Brinkley.

The two highest-ranked potential opponents in the IBF rankings are Brinkley and Sakio Bika. Bute already has a wide decision win over Bika.

Brinkley won an IBF eliminator against Curtis Stevens a few months ago in a great fight on ESPN2. So he probably deserves the opportunity more than anyone who is available.

Steiglitz promoter has turned down a fight with Bute. Pavlik wants a warm-up at 168 before fighting Bute. He's already defeated Bika. The Super Six are tied up in their tournament. Dawson is fighting Pascal.

So tell me please, who else is there?

Brinkley is a tough kid i would not count him out,with that said Bute by ko late in the fight.

honestly, brinkley probably is his best option. that's the problem. the only guys who can give him a fight are tied up in the super six.

you make an excellent point, and while I don't like this fight at all, your right, he might as well take it.

You know what would be nice though is if he went to 175 and fought Zsolt Erdie....now that would be a ****in fight!

Everybody is tied in the super 6.

The only people he can fight are, Brinkley, Stieglitz,Pavlik and thats it. Till the first 2 are eliminated from the super 6
