Saul is at a pivetable point in his career. He's still a very young fighter in terms of age - but he's been fighting as a professional long enough to amass a respectable record and following in Mexico. Now Alvarez is entering that 30+ fights arena where a fighter can usually be expected to have developed some habits or stylistic traits that they'll carry for their career.

Saul is young, but you don't want to keep feeding him opponents that might allow him to develop bad habits or weaknesses in his style. I don't care who they are, if you've fought 35-40 guys, you're going to have some pretty concrete habits evolving.

Saul is young, so give him another 3 or 4 guys, one better than the next, and have him go for title contention within the next two years.

This guy has 33 fights and he is still fighting stiffs. He may be popular in Mexico, but he is obviously not very good. Golden Boy will do what his previous promoter (and Ricky Hatton's promoter) did. They will make as much money off of him as they can before they are forced by the public to throw him to the wolves by putting him in the ring with a quality fighter who will expose him as a C-minus level fighter.

After 30 plus fights, if he was a good quality fighter, he would have fought someone who cracked the top 10 in the division. I don't see anyone on his record that I have heard of and definitely not a top 10 caliber fighter.

Canelo has a rivalry with 1 of the biggest bums in the sport??? Why??? Lil Julio actually has fans in Mexico that support him over Saul??? He is so trash that he shouldn't even be allowed 2 have a ****ing rivalry with any1. And the dude Alvarez is fighting aint **** if he lost 2 Chavez Jr.

The things is that Chavez and Canelo have faced a little too much of tamatoes cans, probably JR has faced a few better fighters (one or two) i like them both both are cool and i know canelo personaly and his trainer. they are humble people as well as julio jr is. Julio is on his way up to super middle weight (when he is not fighting he goes up to cruiserweight and sometimes to heavy) so they probably will never fight
i agree they both have face teh exact same thing but know jr is fighting duddy a well known fighter

He may get better if he works on his footwork and defense... Otherwise I see that chin becoming a problem at jr middleweight...
