theyre facing a common opponent so how can you say the two could never fight? alvarez doesnt need any more hype at this point, he's practically a household name. if anything, he's got too much hype behind him.

Chavez and Canelo both are good. the thing is that people here in mexico thinks (thanx to the tv that makes stories up) that canelo has faced better oposition than chavez jr. televisa sold us (or at least tried to) that cotto was this mega monster, that alvarez was going to face this incredible top fighter, that it was his ''prueba de fuego'' but we all true fans knew that cotto was only a lightweight.

The things is that Chavez and Canelo have faced a little too much of tamatoes cans, probably JR has faced a few better fighters (one or two) i like them both both are cool and i know canelo personaly and his trainer. they are humble people as well as julio jr is. Julio is on his way up to super middle weight (when he is not fighting he goes up to cruiserweight and sometimes to heavy) so they probably will never fight

Chavez said that Canelo was a nobody. Does a nobody sell out 10,000+? Does a nobody end up on a 1.4 million bought PPV card? Does a nobody have a good chunk of Mexico christening him the next big thing when Jr. has been fighting for several years now and is barely starting to step up competition wiht john duddy? If Chavez is willing to call Canelo a nobody then Chavez is the biggest bum of them all.

Although I will admit I am kinda disappointed he isn't going to campaign at 147 lbs anymore...looks like he's going for 154 lbs division which is fine.

Televisa is gonna do something special alright! They are gonna do what they have been doing for a while now, & that's keep on hyping Alvarez up! He lost some credibility when he fought much smaller, way overweight & out of shape José Cotto & Alvarez almost got taken out in 1st & the fight was stopped prematurely to give Alvarez another KO in his record...Televisa have been hyping their fighters up for a while..Televisa gives them a **** load of promo, reality shows & other things & along with "LEECH" Sulaiman they put them in against extremely weak opposition..Other Televisa fighters are Edgar Sosa(all of his defenses were in Mexico against tomato cans that didn't deserve to fight for a title & when he faced a real contender he got KO'd) & Humberto "La Zorrita" Soto(another 1 that Sulaiman gave him a title & has defended against tomato can's & hasn't looked good)

Its a good move, at 19 years old he's still a kid. Once he hits 22-25 he'll start to fully develop in both skills and power to his best potential. He needs more fights, slowly increase the difficulty in opponents through each fight, they should not be blow outs, but opponents that slightly give him the edge so he can challenge himself, fix any bad habits, grow his confidence, and actually learn. I wish GBP would've kept him a secret until the time was right, but i guess that's business.

as for JCC jr, John Duddy is his first real test, and is no walk in the park by any means. Have to wait and see because this fight will show what hes made of, thats for sure.

If I remember correctly, he said the winner would get a title shot next in another interview.
