  • Article on DIEGO CORRALES

"“I’d love to see Erik Morales before I leave this division. I had said a few things. He guaranteed there was no way I would beat his good friend Castillo. But if somehow I found a way to beat Castillo, he’d move up and fight me. Of course, that hasn’t materialized yet. So I wonder if he really meant what he said or if he’s a little intimidated stepping in here and playing with the big dog.”"

"“Honestly, right now, me and Jose Luis Castillo need to do this again,” he said. “If there’s nothing else, he has earned so much respect from me I feel the urge and desire to get back in there and do it again."

I'm quite a big fan of Morales but i wouldn't advise this match up.

I really would not advise anyone at 135 to fight Diego Corrales after his display against JLC.

I agree with you knives. at 135 Corrales is the man. Frietas is saying he is going to use his rematch clause but Frietas will get blasted outta there even faster this time. He cannot keep up that running pace. Diego always does better in rematches and I think he would do better against JLC as well. leave him alone at 135 you know?

This fight would be awesome. Morales vs. Chico? If there ever was a fight worth PPV this is it. I think Chico would win by TKO but this fight would be great for the fans, even the casual ones.

I think Chico beats Morales too. But not so badly that Erik Shouldn't try it. He's an exeptional fighter. And while he doesn't have the pop he did at the lower weights. Corrales isn't exactly iron chinned. I don't think a Morales UD is out of the question. But that being Said, I think Corrales would win.

But from what we saw in the first fight with Castillo.
A Corrales victory is anything but certain. I'd take Castillo in a rematch. Glad to see Corrales is honering it.

Castillo probably told Morales not to take the fight,so he could get revenge against Corrales in a rematch. If that fails,i'm sure Morales is brave enough to step up and take on Chico.

ZAB,this is off topic, but the way that Duran picture is made,it looks like someone chopped his legs off......Maybe it's just me though, lol.

Yes. Unless opted for a rematch with Castillo, which I do not think will happen, I dont see 135 as the weight for Corrales to be fighting at. I think he should immediately join the group at 140 and fight the bigger names. Ebo Elder, Julio Diaz and whatever other fringe contender would be destroyed if they challenged for the undisputed title. Although Julio was impressive in his last outing on Friday night Fights....that did not show me he could give Corrales any trouble.

I don't get some of these posts. You talking like Corrales destroyed Castillo.

Chico pulled out a miricle to win that fight. Not only that but he cheated. If Chico doesn't get the extra time with the mouth guard & the point deduction. He doesn't win that fight. Simple as that. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, what he did was amazing, but IMO he has done nothing that suggests to me he can move past Castillo. Nothing was decided in thier first fight.

Corrales IMO has no right to fight anyone else.

He had JLC out on his feet for the first time in his career as a professional fighter.
