I hope no one's using the Gatti vs Mayweather fight as example of how Hatton vs Mayweather is gonna turn out!

    PLEASE!!!!

Hatton is a WHOLE different ball game to Arturo Gatti!

Hatton will pressure, pressure, pressure, Mayweather into submission, (that's my opinion, and I'd be happy to take bets on it!)

Gatti is a typical type of "Roy Jones Junior's" opponent for Mayweather... Someone brought in to make him look good.

We'll see how well Mayweather does, if he's willing to accept the Hatton challenge, (Something I think he's gonna duck!)

If that fight took place, Id bet you on it. In my opinion Floyd would break Hatton down and finish him late.

sisforshaq.... If Mayweather doesn't duck the fight... (or use the HBO/Showtime excuse) and the fight takes place... I'd be quite happy to bet every point I have, (which will be about 50 million).

You got a little more than I do, but if that fight took place Id be happy to bet a good ammount of the points I have. Also I dont hate Hatton, I rooted for him againest Zoo and respect him as a fighter, I just see Floyds style being able to stop Hatton. The better defense, the better overall speed and handspeed and personally I could be on the minor in this but I think that Floyd can match up with Hattons power. So we'll see what it comes to and then we will talk from there. Should be a good fight either way.

I agree... I don't hate Mayweather.. I think he's a spectacular boxer! I just think Hatton's pressure will be too much for him...

(I'm not keen on his antics outside the ring, but his performances inside the ring make up for it).

How was Gatti "brought in"? Mayweather was his mandatory.

Either way. If Hatton was knocked out in 2 or 3 rounds by Mayweather, you would immediately turn around and say Witter would beat him because of his nationality.

all those wars gatti was in surely must have taken it's toll on gatti, hatton on the other hand is in the prime of his career, hatton will be a much tougher fight for mayweather.

Can you tell me what Floyd has done that would ever make you think he'd duck someone ?

Floyd Mayweather is one of the more ambitious fighters in the history of boxing.
Why is he so ambitious? Because he knows he can do what he wants to do in there.

Hatton would certainly be more difficult than Gatti....then again, Floyd can render anyone useless in there.

Interesting that the guys who've followed Hatton always mention that his opponents can't stand the relentless pressure. But pressure alone doesn't win fights, it's connecting gloves to flesh the does the damage. I think that Mayweather might offer Hatton a combination he's never seen before .... a guy who' very difficult to locate, connects a lot (with some power) and then is gone again.

Hatton's game plan depends entirely on rushing forward (throwing mind you) and closing that gap. There's no other version of Hatton that can be succcessful. Mayweather's plan will be to keep that space and win the fight.

If the gap closes, Hatton beats just about anybody right now. If the fight is mostly outside or even mid-range, Mayweather peppers Hatton like he's never seen before. Really. Then the best Hatton can hope for its that Mayweather tires, which might happen, and the gap begins to close.
