I gaurantee if they did this it would bring boxing into the mainstream again.

It wouldnt work exec's are to greedy, they would want commercial round after round. It would be great, imagine a Gatti vs Ward legendary round and a commercial airs after that round. The spectator most likely wont leave the couch. It would be hit or miss and not a guarantee but HUGE money could be made, even more so than they do now.

Right now they make live gate, ppv and closed circuit buys, sponsors on average most boxing cards (HBO/Sho) average about a 3 million. PPV a little more. If you take it broadcast network, they could make bank off of commercials. In ring promotions, ring cards as well as play advertisements on the fighters trunk (which is cool with me). TON of money to be made, it use to be a tapped market.

It is just people are to afraid to take the risk. But that is business if the Risk is low the payout will be low, if it his high well you going to strike it rich.

Also boxing will always be looked as the most corrupt in history due to its past.

Also about fighter staying active. Majority of the commissions make a fighter wait 3 months before being cleared.

A big difference is that Wrestling (As atrocious as it has become of late) does a good job at promoting it's events. Everyshow it puts on is for the purpose of building to the big payoff on PPV.

It has the platform & ability to display it's most marketable talents on a weekly basis. Things boxing just cannot duplicate.
Plus there is almost a garentee that a wrestling PPV will give you 2 1/2 + hours of what you expect. While allot of time on boxing PPVs are spent killing time.

Add that to the fact it is cheaper. It's not a huge mystery.

ye know what I notice? I notice that team sports, or sports that represents the states, or cities of US is mo popular. If boxing became a team sport, it would become mo popular, mo fans tuning in, but that would be really stoopid.

Imagine, boxers from NY would be competin gainst doos from CA etc. There would be mo loyalty and interest. Mo popularity and shyt.

Ya and they say boxing is negative for kids??? boxing is about honor and is way more noble then wrestling! Wrestling teaches kids to use steroids and hit women! remember that kid in florida who killed his lil sister doing a wrestling move! come on these people are ****** sad that the best reality show on tv has low ratings THE CONTENDER was ten times better then survivor and the bachelorette haah.

Great post and you completely nailed it. I don't really think you can compare the WWE to boxing because boxing does not have the same opprotunities to promote itself that the WWE does.

That is why it is better to not put boxing on ppv! people get sour when they do not see the guy knock out the villian they feel they lost their money...They should and find a way to show big fights on ABC! but the problem is the timeslots! people will get pissed if they for one night interrupted Alias or desperate housewives with a boxing match hahah.

ABC is owned by Disney, not likely.

Tuesday Night Fights on USA aired QUALITY fights, most of those would be ppv. Hell Roy was on USA a good bit. However the ratings lacked and USA dropped it because it couldnt compete with WWE despite getting the same amount of airtime exposure. Tuesday Night Fights was heavily promoted throughout Raw each and every Monday and still did piss poor.

Yeah, like they tried on The Condenter? I dont think anybody on the East really would care for that...boxing needs to be fan friendly. How is it that everything that has to do with boxing is to be paid for (interviews, articles, pictures ect)? Not only that, but we see our favorite fighters only every so months. I think their should be more outdoor fights, and outdoor workouts (like Cotto did in the Bronx).
