I approve and disapprove of this. I think it would be great and lots of money to be made but from a spectator I would hate it. I love hearing the corner and I probably wouldnt get that out of network boxing. We would probably be stuck with commercial after commercial. But from a financial standpoint by all means, hell they show the local bar room tough man in my area and we have about 45k people and six thousand people tuned in locally. Yet local promoters are afraid to bring boxing here.

^you got a point hearing the corner talk is my favorite as well, It will be kinda hard to do a fight commercial free because that would be free tv basically and the station will not get paid, but they can do it like the olden days when announcers would talk about sponsors during certain times in the match. I gaurantee if they did this it would bring boxing into the mainstream again.

            Vitali Klitschko vs James Toney
            Zab Judah vs Shane Mosely
            Floyd Mayweather vs Ricky Hatton
            Diego Corrales vs Miguel Cotto
            Samuel Peter vs Calvin Brock
            Antonio Margarito vs Luis Collazo

That is the equivalent to a WWE PPV card. The problem with most Boxing cards is there is a main event that everyone pays for, and usually two or three other fights that no one cares about. That is not the case for the WWE.

man, if that's one card fo one night, that would be insane!!!!!!!!!

they should do that. seriously. LOL

While wrestlers take some hard bumps and bruises and while everything might be premeditated some of the stunts they do is insane and causes some pain. However, those guys work like 5-6 days a week. You cant be working boxers like that. However, I know what you mean Don King does this with his cards and is good at it.

If an organization ever swooped in and contracted boxers and gave them every 2-3 months to prepare and showcased ppv cards say 3-4 times a year than their would be serious money to be made. But that is just a big ass headache that would lead to more corruption and fixing than now. That would be turning Boxing into pro wrestling.

Boxing is a niche sport. And with next to no exposure in the vast majority of the media, how is it supposed to garner new fans?

Pretty much the only time Boxing makes headlines is when something bad has happened.

Tyson biting someone makes the front page. Hatton beating Kostya barely made the back page.

Also being shown on Basic TV would actually make the fights hungrier to fight! and that is how those lower no name fighters who put on tough fights on espn get famous! Look at the fights in the 50s people wanna see excitment without basic tv broadcast I do not believe danny chacon, and danny lopez, and so forth would be as big as they were.

The reason why boxing will not be on ABC or NBC or CBS is because of the PROMOTERS greed ppv only benifits them! they want that money fast and quick while the other people get robbed. That is why we need some sorta union or league in boxing.

                      Your right!!!

SAd the only thing that makes boxing noticed now is something bad! a fighter who got in a coma made the front page awhile back that guy who fought viloria and he was just a c class fighter! but his tragedy makes the front page?

Diego Corrales didnt even make the front page and on ESPN they didnt even make the main page! Yahoo you have to find boxing on MORE SPORTS sad that horse racing gets high billing then boxing.
