Most British fighters are ****, the comparison is worthless.
I couldn't name an active British heavyweight with a better resume than Haye, does that prove he isn't a ducker and a joke? Of course not.
Name a boxer who is the same age as Khan in the same division yet has a better resume? How about Devon Alexander?
The difference of course is that Alexander wasn't overrated by his fellow Americans and given more attention than his achievements deserved. Khan therefore was enough of a draw to cherry pick. Alexander didn't have that luxury. Despite this, Alexander didn't get KTFO in less than a minute and Khan did, and Alexander has still achieved more as a pro and avoided no one.Comment

I think both of you are right and wrong. But the main thing is that Khan is young at 23 and getting better so a) why shouldn't he look for a high profile tune up fight for July? b) he will have to fight Maidana et al over the next two years. So both of your arguments will just have to wait until time unfurls.
Right now I see nothing wrong with Khan biding his time until he hits his prime hard. Boxing today is a tactical career building exercise and whether people like that or not Khan is just doing what other high profile boxers do. He knows his day will come when he fights the big boys and he is just getting ready for it.Comment

I have never heard anyone say they dislike Amir ebcause he drives fast cars and crashes them.More generally, the people who follow boxing will just go on stuff they read in the papers, driving fast flashy cars and crashing them, not turning up to court etc is the sort of behaviour that wouldn't resonate with the fans.
Personally when I see him fight, I want Amir to win because I think he has great talent, and I think the public at large want him to win too, but I think that his popularity has waned since when he first burst onto the scene here as an Olympic medalist.
Also no need to type like a foul mouthed oaf old bean. Calm down.
Especially since msot people have crashed a car in their lives and 100% all have speeded.
Sorry for the loud mouth though. My badComment

Does it have to be "significantly" better? Cause it certainly is better. I guess the gap is up for debate.
Alexander's opponents were not only better, but they were not handpicked to protect his weaknesses.
And on top of that you are nuts if you don't think knocking out Juan Urango with a vicious uppercut isn't a better result than scoring a TKO over a badly faded featherfisted Pauli.
And one more thing: Even though Alexander is young and could have gotten away with it he has too much fighting pride to cheat fans with a farce of a fight like Amir Khan did with Salita.Comment
