steroids help, but 90% of the time a fighter loses because he got outboxed, outclassed, outskilled. this doesn't come from steroids. barry bonds didnt hit home runs because of steroids - they helped, but they didn't teach him to swing a bat.

how ever there are cases (especially among mexican fighters and such) where fighters win by endurance and pressure. obviously in these type of fights steroids become a much more deciding factor. but fighters get beaten or knocked out while on steroids all of the time. de la hoya vs vargas anyone? any sport where the brain is a big factor, steroids become less effective (but certainly still effective to an extent). race horses for example, dont have to think they just have to run as fast as they can for as long as they can. boxing is obviously nothing like that.

DALLAS – Freddie Roach, the trainer of Manny Pacquiao, said he has worked with two fighters who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs but takes precautions so it won’t creep into his gym in Hollywood, Calif.

Roach said one of his former fighters, Justin Fortune, was known to have used PEDs and James Toney twice tested positive for steroids, once when he was working with Roach.

      “I won’t say I didn’t know,” said Roach
, referring to Toney. “I never asked him, though. I never had a conversation. I could see his body structure had signs, his traps and stuff. He was either lifting a lot of weight or he was on (something).

“… I think I had one other fighter on steroids also, Justin Fortune. … I know he’d been there before.”

Pac fans are always acting like manny comes from some squeaky clean camp, and there is no justification whatsoever for su****ion.

Roach's own words provide enough su****ion to take precaution.

who gives a **** about the commission rules anyway? none of this was an issue. if the roles were reversed, youd still side with pacquiao. pacquiao could have made the fight if he wanted to. be he doesn't want to appear "bullied" in negotiations. neither does floyd. when both fighters go into negotiations with this mentality, usually fights dont happen. they end up taking less money to fight a less desired fight, and this is a huge problem in boxing. they lose sight of the big picture - that regardless of split or ****** rules or what ever, they will make more money than any other fight in their life.

                Wait all you want, puppet.

First you say 'nobody else'. Now you say 'besides AA'. Which is it?

WAS FLOYD THE FIRST PRO FIGHTER TO UNDERGO OLYMPIC-STYLE TESTING? YES OR NO?

Use Da Google. Check the Sauerland deal. Check the Ward/Green request.

probably 80% of all well known professional athletes (if not more) have taken steroids at some point in their careers. i never doubted roach said any of this, i just wanted to read the article is all. you should watch bigger, stronger, faster. its a great documentary on steroids, it focuses a little more on football and weight lifting, but regardless - its fantastic. makes you realize how hard it is to make it in sports without steroids.

if you dug hard enough you could probably find fighters from all sorts of named trainers that had taken steroids. IMO it would be easier just to let the fighters take what they want.
