Who the hell did it recently?

    This thread fails.
    Hopkins did it with Tito.
Because Tito by the time he got to Hopkins basically already cemeted his current legacy.

    • yeah that would be hard to do when it is not many great fighters in your ERA

he is the best fighter in his ERA so what is going to do? Fight Himself?

I don't consider Cotto or Margarito "GREAT", the word "Great" gets thrown around a lot and it is just not that many "GREAT" Boxers in this ERA, it is a lot of GOOD ONES and Future Hall Of Famers but it is less then a Hand Full of "GREATS"

This is what floyd does, he stays at weights so he doesnt have to face great fighters or jumps around at weights to avoid great fighters. He could have absolutely jumped weight earlier & fought shane, oscar, or kostya at 135,140, or 147 but he decided to stay at 130 or 135.

His stay at welterweight has been an absolute disgrace. He fought a shot washed up sharmba mitchell, a overrated bum in zab judah, a journey man club fighter in baldomir, a career featherweight in marquez, a career 140 pounder in hatton, & a 39 year old 1 year & 5 month inactive shane mosley.

the worst part is after beating 140 pounder hatton, he retires from the welterweight division which at the time was the hottest, best, & deepest division in boxing with cotto, margarito, paul williams, mosley, collazo, & cintron.

        fail #1

Shane Mosley at 135 & 147: Floyd also CHASED a Shane Mosley fight but Mosley didnt want it because he was too busy chasing Oscar. You know boxings cash cow??

        fail #2.

Kostya Tyzszu at 140: Floyds dream fight and one of his favorite fighters. You ever heard of Showtime Network??

        fail #3

Manny Pacquiao at 147: The ****? Isnt he trying to make the fight. Lame ass pick.

        Fail #4

        NEXT!!!!!

HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS? WHERE YOU INVOLVED IN THE NEGOTIATIONS? DID OSCAR, KOSTYA, & SHANE TELL YOU PERSONALLY THAT THEY WERE SCARED OF FLOYD?

THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS HE DIDNT FIGHT THEM.

        THE FIGHTS DIDNT TAKE PLACE.

Who didnt want to fight who is of no consequence to the fact that floyd has never fought or beaten a great fighter in their prime.

DID I NOT NAME GREAT FIGHTERS IN THEIR PRIME THAT FLOYD COULD HAVE FOUGHT?

Now its because they are scared or beacuse of showtime????????????

PLEASE STFU & GTFO with that shiet.

Cheif said guys he COULD fight. Why name guys that he couldnt?

Did you even follow Floyd before 2007?

Oscar and Shane were the top dogs. Floyd was an up and comer in a lower weight class mind you and they saw no gain in fighting him. Thats common damn sense.

        Oscar was the man.

        Mosley was chasing the man.

Kostya was on Showtime. (Floyd was HBO)

Pac and Floyd are in talks now.

        You have no case.

& how is it unrealistic for floyd to move up in weight & fight those guys at that time?

        Why would that be unrealistic?

@ Clayton. The Jig is up homie, Burner laid it out for you. You can close your thread now.

        Lets try this again.

Floyd was an up and comer in a lower weight class.

Oscar had no reason to fight Floyd or to even want to fight him at all. Why? Because Floyd was a ****ing NOBODY. A dangerous up and comer.

Mosley was too busy chasing Oscar. Which is why he went from 135 to 147 skipping 140 altogether remember? Or did you not follow boxing then?

        So no.

Its not realistically for Floyd to fight them if you can comprehend what I typed over 3 times now.

This is too easy., Yet I dont know boxing. Please.

If that is the case then give credit to Pac for doing against Barrera in the first fight. Since Barrera and Tito are not that far apart in terms of ATG's rankings. And, Barrera was prime in the first and Pac just destroyed him.

                  Good point.
Considering tito did start at JWW.

Yeah if we are going to Knock Mayweather for fighting Hatton @ WW
We got to do the same for Hopkins.

                  • Mayweathers a top 20 ATG.

If he beats Pacquiao he goes above SRR, just below Ali.
