...and I felt embarrassed for him.
Vitali looked like he had no idea what he was doing in there.
At the beginning, he was circling around the ring to warm-up, and even doing that, he looked like he had no idea what he was doing. No footwork display. Just clueless circling. And the music to which he trained ****** big time (but that's not important). He shadowboxed a bit, which was ok.
Then, some mitts work. Again, he looked like he didn't know what combination his trainer wanted him to throw, his timing was off a lot, but he had some good sequences and displayed good handspeed for a man his age. But it was to remain his best moment...
Then, jumping rope. God, that was awful... He was jumping for about 15-20 seconds, missed, started again. He didn't look like much of a boxer. I have never seen a champion having such a hard time with basic rope jumping. Watch Mayweather workout, then watch Vitali. Night and day. Watch Frazier workout, watch Vitali, Still night and day.
After jumping rope, it was time for some ballerine dancing. No kidding, just watch it, you'll see for yourself. Vitali was spinning like a ballerine. Never heard of that training exercise. Anyway.
There was also some tennis time. Vitali was exchanging a tennis ball with his trainer. Throwing it at each other. Yes. No kidding.
Richardson towel training method doesn't look all that ****** next to ballerine dancing and tennis ball exchanges.
It's a bad thing Vitali is fighting Zuri Lawrence's victim this saturday. Otherwise, I would have bet on the underdog.
