cotto vs foreman flop only 12000 tickets sold

I'm shocked that only 12000 tickets have been sold. I heard that it was suppose to be 30000 seats. This is sad for boxing yankee stadium could only pull 12000 people in for this fight. What do you guys think the reason is and what will it be by fight time.

    Where'd you hear that?

Last I heard ticket sales were going so well that they were expanding it to 40,000.

I don't know why it's shocking. I was shocked that they were having this fight at Yankee stadium in the first place.

Cotto has a big following and all, but he's coming off a bad loss and Foreman is not a star.

Top Rank should have put JuanMa and Gamboa on this card I bet it would have done better.

This fight had no business in Yankee Stadium anyway.

If Bob was going to put it there he couldve atleast put JuanMa, Salita, Negron and Calderon on the undercard.

The ESPN article which quoted Arum as saying "12k tickets had been sold" apparently used an old quote from the Bobfather.

This is from Dan Rafael's chat a few weeks ago...

                  ____________

                  Derek (Brooklyn)

Any word how ticket sales are going for the Cotto-Foreman fight? Aside from Vanes-Joe Green, what other fights will be on the card?

                  Dan Rafael (2:51 PM)

I am told they are going so well they opened up another 10,000 seats.

I second that. Where did you hear only 12,000 tickets sold? Rafael said the tickets were selling very well that the 30,000 seat idea was expanded to 40,000. I'll take Rafaels word over you mysterious no source anyday. Lets hear your source.
