Does Ricky really think he could come off a 18 month layoff (assuming this fight was to happen later this year) even have a remote chance against Floyd?

He'd be nothing....he'd be absolutely gash.

This is excuse for not wanting to come back at 140 and face the likes Bradley, Khan or Alexander. The fact is, Ricky's spell at 140 was an easy ride, he didn't beat any one who was slick. His best win is Kostya. He conveniently ducked the other big guy at 140 who'd have give him trouble, Cotto. Hatton makes it sound like he beat plenty of fighters with the ability that Alexander and Bradley have, during his prime, but he didn't, the only guy Hatton beat who was better than Tim or Devon in Kostya.

It písses me off that Ricky looks down his nose at the current 140ers because everyone would give him trouble and even in his prime, he'd steam roll Khan, but Bradley and Alexander would have given him a lot of trouble and perhaps beaten him. Cotto would have beaten Hatton if Hatton had took him on instead of taking on Cotto's sloppy seconds in Maussa.

Fúck off Ricky, you earned your matches with Floyd and Pacman the first time around. Want to fight them again? Come back and win some matches against the top 140ers.
Well said.We will never know how good Ricky is because when he tried to fight an opponent who was alive he got knocked out.

He will get damaged if he fights mayweather, pacquiao smashed him in a short period of time, floyd will beat him up for 6-7 rounds before stepping on him and knocking him the **** out, he should fight some of the current 140's try and win a title or bugger off and carryon promoting

Awesome win. Even though Kostya was old people didn't think Ricky would beat him. Ricky was an underdog and put out a great performance and Kostya just couldn't handle his bulldog, relentless style.

But Ricky's rode a lot off that win.

Instead of taking on undefeated Miguel Cotto (who was the best boxer aside from Ricky at the weight) for the WBO belt, he took on Maussa for the WBA, who had already been beaten by Cotto.

Instead of taking on Cotto for a WBA, IBF and WBO unification fight, Ricky vacates his titles and moves up to 147 to fight Collazo.

Maybe he should have fought Torres, a much more dangerous opponent rather than Urango, but Urango was IBF champ and was undefeated. Torres would have held up as a better win over time, but that's hindsight, at the time beating an undefeated fighter was more prosperous.

Castillo was a decent win, despite what people say about "Castillo being old", he was 32 and that's not that old for a mexican style fighter and who had beaten KO'd Coralles a couple of fights before. Ricky KO'd Castillo in 4 rounds so I'd give credit where it's due.

After losing to Mayweather he then fights fúcking Juan Lasczano...instead of Ricardo Torres (who by this point has beaten Kendall Holt and was WBO champ for a few years) or Paulie Malignaggi who had the IBF belt and had called Ricky out right after the Mayweather fight or more importantly Junior Witter who was WBC champ. With them both being English World 140 champions with an old grudge this fight should have happened. Witter called him out so many times, and even offered to fight for free. This is solely Ricky's fault why that fight didn't happen.

Ricky doesn't want any of this current division though. Ricky v Alexander or Bradley? They aren't big enough names for him. But ability wise? They're better than any of Ricky's wins after Kostya.

I agree. The win over Tszyu is what stands out on his record. Aside from that he doesnt have that much, Maussa and Urango were good fighters as is Collazo (but its debatable as to whether he actually won that fight). Ricky Hatton really should have fought Junior Witter. They were #1 and #2 for quite a while and that would have been a really good fight for British Boxing.

I like Hatton but I think Witter would have exposed him

In his defence, Mayweather was in the picture at that stage, that's who Hatton wanted. He should never have moved to 147 though, should've stayed at 140.

He was in no shape to take on those guys straight away (well maybe Malignaggi with hindsight), he went on a 3 month bender after getting ko'd by the ringpost.
