Yeah... I was asking what he was like as a PERSON. Not as a fighter.

The dive Liston took against Clay in the second fight is what the bumb ought to be remembered for
    Christ, how many more times?

IT'S NOT SPELT "BUMB" WITH A B ON THE END IT'S SPELT "BUM". HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW ****** YOU'RE MAKING YOURSELF LOOK NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO SPELL SO BASIC A WORD WHEN AT LEAST THREE PEOPLE ON THIS THREAD HAVE TOLD YOU OTHERWISE? YOU'D BETTER PAY UP WHEN RUIZ BEATS McBRIDE, THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY...

Dude, I don't need to watch your video clip, cause I've seen that fight more times than I care to remember. Unlike yourself though, I've also seen quite a few other fights of Liston and I currently have some in my posession (him vs. Whitehurst, Williams, Machen, Patterson (x2), and Ali (x2)).

A couple of these guys said you were a Tyson fan? If so, do you also declare Tyson a "bumb", because of that disgraceful incident where he bit Holyfield's ear off? Or because of him getting stopped at the end of his career by a couple of guys who weren't even within sniffing distance of contender status at the time (unlike Liston's loss to Leotis Martin, who was a top ten contender before the fight and had moved way up the rankings after his come from behind KO win over Sonny)? People who know me know that I can't stand Tyson's guts, but that doesn't mean I'm going to pick apart his career and judge him solely on the worst nights of his boxing life...C'mon man!

Hey, I'll admit that the fights against Ali are a black mark on Liston's legacy, without question. Shows a lack of heart from a guy who was often percieved as a "bully". But dude, I'm not going to judge Liston SOLELY off of the Ali fights, because that simply would be ignoring the rest of his career and what he accomplished...That's not fair, dude! And it's not like Liston always showed a lack of heart, as how many fighters do you know who would fight the vast majority of a fight with a broken jaw? There's a few of those guys who've done that, and Liston was one of them (earlier in his career against Marshall).

Liston deserves better than what your giving him, as his accomplishments (basically clearing out the division BEFORE he won the championship) and fighting talents shown clearly outweigh the negatives with him. At least somebody who knows a little something about Liston thinks so, anyways.

Macky is like 17 years old and bet 40 mil on McBride against Ruiz. I think we can safely say his opinion doesn't count.

No disrespect to McKay, but does he talk more crap than anyone else on this site?

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy - his "Tyson's weight" thread was genius.

Sonny was a class act. Nothing like the dumb ****** tyson is... Sonny would have put an end to tyson's career early on if they both met each other in their prime...

Obviously there's VERY little substance and no real knowledge behind that guy's opinion of Liston, so yeah.

I belive Ali knocked him out. Because it had all his weight behind him, right on a weak spot and listion couldnt see it. It was the perfect mix. he threw his body forward with the punch in a split second because his feet got raised from the canvas.

I also saw some BBC documentary where they used some advance stuff to make it all 3d. and it was a perfect punch. I dunno how much u can trust that though.
