pbf's high guard vs shoulder roll

is pbf's high guard as good as his shoulder roll?

    is he more vulnerable?
    is he more effective?

Not as good as his shoulder roll but good nonetheless. The shoulder roll creates more opportunities to counter.

This is not a "vs" argument. Floyds defense is something he's learned and mastered his whole life. I don't think anyone on here is qualified to diagnose his defense and say he does this and he does that well. He changes, adapts and fights differently in every fight which is why he is a master at what he does.

High guard is used more frequently because Shoulder roll is only effective in certain situations.

He counters/defends with the Shoulder roll, but on the attack he would use High Guard, unless he is confident enough to use it in whatever situations which I have seen him do.

Actually I think it's the opposite. The shoulder roll is better defensively but the high guard is better to punch out off.

No there are quit a bit of openings in his high guard, which is why I'm glad Manny faced Clottey and Floyd faced Shane. As soon as that happened my confidence in Manny beating Floyd with up even more....peace

I honestly don't see that man. It's clearly much easier to counter off the shoulder roll.

                  Just so you know,

Clottey may have a good defense, but he has ZERO upper body movement. I know exactly where your getting at too
