  • Mayweather-Pacquiao : Is it the biggest fight ever?

Is it up there with Trinidad-Oscar? What about Ali's scraps with Foreman and the first Frazier fight? Holmes-Cooney? Oscar-Mayweather? Tyson-Holyfield? Hagler-Hearns? Hagler-SRL??

Where does a fight of this magnitude get ranked in your opinion of the "biggest fights" in the sport.

IMO I say yes. Mayweather and Pacquiao arent just the two biggest boxers in the world. They are two of the most popular "people" in the world period.

In the internet age, 24/7, promos and all the other stuff that will happen. This fight is the biggest IMO. Just when the two camps are negotiating boxing fans go crazy.

It's just like Holmes-Cooney, outside the ring and inside the ring.

It is the biggest fight ever in terms of PPV.

But, in terms of real life meaning. It does not come close to Louis-Schmelling and Ali-Frazier the first fight.

Burner, the was global significance in Louis/Schmeling because of the the war. It was as if it was being fought inside of that ring. We're talking about a time when Boxing was possibly the biggest mainstream sport. Cmon now.

who knows....maybe it won't go past the magic number........but honsestly i see it doing 3 million +

                  that's alot of chips

                  $180,000,000 PPV buys

                  $30,000,000 live gate

it's a fight that would gross a quarter billion IMHO......

Pac and Floyd could walk away with $65-70 million each.......even for the one who loses........i mean damn.....it would be hard to stay upset over it for long when you see that many zero's in your bank account.
